H!GHL!FE Profile Image
James High started to DJ as a hobbie in the summer of 2007.
With 14 years of previous drumming experience, he's
managed to catch on quick. H!GHL!FE's mixes can vary,
but consistencies are found. Melodies that inflict
emotion, funky basslines, smooth melodic transitions, and strong, driving
grooves compliment his unique and varied sets, which include outside genre influences from his jazz drumming background.
James' sets have made their way to the djmix.com "featured list" numerous times since he started. "A Night at the Gaslamp," his flagship lounge style mix, aired on progressivehouse.com's weekly progcast. One of his Dance floor oriented mixes on djmix, "Get Lifted 2" caught the eye of stream-fm.com, landing him his first residency and weekly online radio show on tuesday nights at stream-fm.com.
Highlife's step into djing has just begun. His natural feel for mixing and flowing sets cross over between specific genres and usher in a sound that is refreshing and enjoyable to listen to.
