who is bored of threads like this? I dont really have an opinion on hoovers but i cant help but think its the same as the "anyone bored of 303s" argument. Guitars havent changed much over the years but people still love them and they are all over music, i cant see why it should be any different for any other decent sound that people like and has played a big part in defining a genre of music. Cant see 303's or hoovers ever completely dying off and why should they, people love them

i don't think every hardhouse track needs a hoover. i couldn't listen to a mix where every track played has hoovers in as it would get boring. although i feel the majority of tunes should have them in there. use in moderation really. thumbsup

exactly, its like 303 i guess...

at this stage i still think it should be used, just not as the foundation of a track thats holding it together

Anybody that say's they're bored of a certain core sound of a certain genre obviously doesn't have an appreciation of that music.  To think outside the box shows real thought of style and hoovers can be weak or powerful (in impact) just the same as guitars, vocals or any other part of a tune.  Just comes down to the individuals creativity and how they apply it in the tune.thumbsupthumbsup

Perhaps thats because they are not trying to court attention the same way others have.

It worked for others so great example set by the people in our scene

Tom's work (by your own admission) is actually quite good though...not saying FKMs isn't but Tom hasn't got somewhere by being a cock-end - he's got somewhere cos djs actually want to play his stuff out and people want to sign his tracks.  The world of hard house and people's popularity isn't determined by a couple of threads on BT.

Bullshit.

Times change, 'core sounds' become new ones or evolve into better ones. I agree with the 2nd part of your reply but the first just isnt true.

It's just a sound FFS. It doesn't define dance music, or even hard dance music (sorry!) as we know it. I too am pretty damn bored of the same, generic use of hoovers in the majority of NRG tunes. I'm far more interested when producers, completely regardless of genre, try something different thumbsup
