converting audio into midi

can you convert an audio loop into a midi loop so i can play the same riff with a different synth, or is it better to rewrite the loop from scratch?

dude, these programs say they can do this... but it's just not gonna happen... you're better off programing the ryhthms and melodies ect yourself.

- have always had to recreate as never had this technology in the past, glad i learnt now

yeah am gunna teach myself to do it properly jush wish i have more time as i work away all week and have precious little time on a weekend to get practising

Logic's 'convert to score' function in the sample editor SOMETIMES works quite well.

I understand, i have the same problem with even getting into the studio as its so low on my priority list

It dont make money so doesnt pay the bills, its now one of them every now and then hobbies. But at least it isnt another pressure in life as it used to be but then again i have never had a job since that paid the amount of money the music business did back then! , all gone to pot now though...haha
