had my first EVER go on cd decks the other day, think they were cdj 800's, and fuck me was i impressed, much better than the standard vinyl turnatable, and the only turntables i practicaly ever use are the industry standard technics, anyone else have any thoughts on this? they just seemed so much easier to use.

After owning my 1000mk3's for just over a year and a half now I can honestly say that vinyl-emulation CDJ's are the ONLY way to go. I've played on standard twin deck CD players and basic jog-wheel CDJ's like Numark Axis 9's and Pioneer CDJ-200's but nothing beats the feel of queing a CD like a vinyl which you get from 1000 or 800's (and to some extent the high-end Denons, not used the Technics one).

I personally feel though that the best DJ setup incorporates standard turntables and while I don't buy as much vinyl as I used to, I wouldn't rule out vinyl yet.

I used to do this then I discovered CDJ mode and the cue button. Maybe I'm just lazy. party

It all started with one CDJ 800 for me to play the few mp3s I wantd to buy and some upfront tunage I got,  now a few years and 2 x 1000 mk3s later I'm totally converted. Love CD mixing.  Pioneer all the way.

i like mixing with CDs. it doesn't feel quite the same as with vinyl but hey, the standard design and spec for technics hasn't changed in umpteen years. i do still love vinyl but anyone who thinks it's not slowly becoming redundant in scenes such as this is sadly deluded.

Vinyl FTW !!!!!!!

I only use cd's for tunes I cant get on wax, when every release that comes out on vinyl comes out on cd I MIGHT think bout converting soley to cd's.
