Yamaha 01x and Cubase Problem???

Ive just set up the 01x in cubase to record audio into cubase but im only geting the midi track i have an electribe connected to the 01x via Midi and i have the audio going into ch3 on the 01x im getting sound through the speakers but i cant record it in cubase can anyone help??

Ignoring the midi side...as you have this working.

What soundcard do you have?

As you connect the Desk direct to the PC via Firewire you have a direct input of 24 analog channels to the PC.

You should be able to see these outputs/inputs in Cubase...if not, then you have to set them up.

If you want to play the module live and record audio from it then you need to have a midi track open and an Audio track open and set into record, then link both the midi and Audio track by clicking the monitor button on the audio track, then select the midi track, hit record and then play your synth.

If you want to just record the finished stereo mix, you just playback your track and record in from the master outs from the desk...all should be there in Cubase as the desk is direct connected via firewire (Mlan).

cheers pal when you say what soundcard im using the 01x as my audio interface???? is that the right way??? connected iva firewire then i have an electribe connected to the 01x via Midi and Audio on ch3 the master ch is controlling the output from the Mac then i have the output from the 01x going to my speakers but i cant seem to get the audio from the electribe into cubase its recording the Midi only is this a cubase

I don't know if the Desk also becomes the Soundcard? Anyone else help me out here?

All i know is that with a normal desk you would just SEND the audio from one of the desks channels back to the PC via its Tape out Busses, you open an AUDIO track, set it to record from one of the soundcards inputs which are connected by whatever means to the Tape bus outs from the desk.

you arm the Audio track, click on MONITOR (the small speaker symbol on the Cubase Audio channel your recording to) and you should see some audio on the meter on the mixer channel (Cubase Mixer),

obviously to hear audio from the external sound module you need to trigger it as well. Do this by recording some midi into Cubase then just play it back while the AUDIO track is in record.

Sorry lads but i still have this problem anybody on this site know how to set them up properly its startin to wreck my head lol i think i have it right but i just cant get the audio into cubase
