this is why over the years i collected my own and stuck with it as it has grown.
my main sample collection is about 12Gb, already too much to actually go through, any more and you just would never get through it.
I also have 5Gb of just acapellas, again, more than enough to actually go through, chop up and totally change to use on my own projects.
In theory you really dont need that many samples, you just need to be creative with the ones that actually work. If you find a kick or bass that works well, you dont need to change it unless you change your genre. you also only need a handful of 'fill in' loops too, then just add in your own single sample hits from known drum machines or softsynths.
I now find that i am using the softsynths more than samples where the only samples are vocals. Most softsynths made for dance now include those great bit stab sounds or harsh synth if you look for them, and are of a better quality and more virsitile than any sample ever was.
The best thing i have within my own sample library isnt the stabs or sounds but the actual past collection of remix parts from top artists and record labels, great for getting the creative juices going again when you hit that creative mental block.

artist veterans like Paul have these collections, especially as their remix discography grows
