Hello

laugh

After struggling to find a decent mix hosting site we (the good people of sunsoundlive) built one ourselves.. mixeeba.

Good, timeless mixes deserve a better home than places like sendspace etc. Obviously as DJs ourselves we're offering a service geared towards djs.. bigger filesize (250MB), an unlimited hosting period, store tracklists, comments, feedback etc.. and anything else you can think of.

So we're looking for guinea pigs; if you'd like a place to host your mix, go ahead >

PS - It's still 'invite only', so consider this a mass invite to banging tunes!!

It's all free.. All we ask is you provide us some feedback with your experience

Hi there,

Is this on the info page or on the mix upload page?

If it's the details page, all fields should be filled in, only the facebook + myspace are optional.

If it's the mix upload page the tick box should be ticked..

Let us know and we can get you uploading smile

ut was the mix upload i think - asked me what genre my mix was and the mix title etc i filled everything out but it didnt work kept saying oops some fields arent filled in or something

It could be worth looking into some sort of web control to give more feedback on how much of the upload has been completed or something, but looks like a promising site smile

Hey guys, sorry to hear you're having trouble uploading... We've made a few performance enhancing changes and these issues should be resolved now, so please try again and let us know!

As for info, yes, we're working on an upload progress bar to you're not left wondering what's going on!!.. in the mean time a little patience is required..

Hey man

Mixes that aren't listed are either not catalogued (the tick box on the upload/edit page) or haven't received any downloads yet (we need to fix that so this chart includes mixes with 0 downloads..)

So get pimping so your mix gets downloaded!

- We reccommend using Firefox or IE
- Once you hit upload leave the browser minimised for about 30 minutes (for 150MB file)
- Check your upload speed here > www.speedtest.net
- If you see a message like 'This document contains no data' or 'This page cannot be displayed' check your firewall (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Document_contains_no_data)

Bugger, do you get an error message from the site or does IE say "this page cannot be displayed"

If it's the site... make sure its an mp3 between 10 and 250MB
IF it's IE.. could be your firewall.. (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Document_contains_no_data)

for 20MB give it 6mins..
for 60MB give it 18mins..
for 100MB give it 30mins..
for 250MB give it 75mins..
(this all depends on your connection)

If you can describe your error (in IE or firefox preferably) in more detail, we'll help you out, dude smile

They do require formatting before you enter them - it's easier than it sounds.. instructions on the upload page.

As for other plans:
- Facebook app to show mixes on your profile
- Inter-mix links.. links on a mix's page to other 'You might like these' mixes..
- Better charts - genre filter, weekly chart etc
- Better help documentation/troubleshooting

Yeh we thought about that too.. but figures we'd just end up becoming another facebook/myspace for people to log into and just another profile for people to manage..

Instead we'll host the file, a little data about it, and you can link to it and download and pimp away! biggrin

Tried it last night, doesn't give any indication of how long it would take to upload, then after 45 minutes i got a "ooooops it failed" message. I know its free but it doesn't work that well mate. Had a few people get the same.

Hey man.. we're working flat out on a heap of improvements - upload progress bar being at the top of the list smile

so it's free, and will the dogs nuts laugh

If you got this error after upload it's cos:
1. The checkbox for terms of service wasn't ticked
2. The file was not an mp3
3. The file size was not between 10MB and 250MB..

Check you did these and try re-uploading. We're also working to give better feedback with error messages as we appreciate the 'Oooops ...' isn't that helpful!

just got an error message after 15 mins dude. it said.....
