Music Style What's a chord?
Hey all,

Can I get other peoples views on these interfaces please? Going to get a new one and am thinking of something like:-

Motu 828 Mk2

Tascam US 1641

M-Audio Fast Track Ultra

I'm really feeling the 828. I need a a healthy amount of analogue in/out, not terribly fussed about digital, but good to have it for the future. I also need every i/o (including headphones) to be individual configurable and seperately assignable for routing with Abelton and Cubase SX. On that level I'm not sure if either the Tascam or M-Audio will do this, any one know? If anyone could suggest others that would be great. Also I don't require anything with a bit-depth or SR above 24-bit or 96KHz respectively.

I'm selling a MOTU Traveler if you want a decent soundcard in MINT condition, it does all you've just mentioned and is suited for live use too(hence the name), send us a message if you dothumbsup

If you're looking at an inerface in the £500 range I'd check the Presonus firestudio line out too.

How much would be the question. New that's pricey. £350 is my limit really. And I can get the 828 for £320. Nice unit though. I like its portabilty, which would be useful considering it's use with Live.

Odd, I've used the 828 before and never had any probs. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check the spec.

Nice piece of kit. Was also looking at the Focusrite Saffire Pro. Trouble is it doesn't have enough analogue outputs for my purposes. Cheers though.

Ah, but this one does look good: Project

United KingdomWill you sell it for 20p?
Music Style I've always wanted one of those
I've had an 828 mk2 for a few years, there was a lot of problems with the drivers originally, one version had the channels swapped. Then I had problems with compatability with my old system, used to have blue screens a lot when useing MME drivers via SF etc, ASIO were OK. But since upgrading to a quad core on a Gigabyte mother board been as solid as a rock...at last. And the sound has always been sweet.

Sweet. Since starting this thread I have read a lot about all the interfaces listed. The 828 has problems with windows, but all seem to have been fixed, even with the 828 USB version. That's the version that is selling cheapish now.
