Elp! trying to get to grips with wave shapes, oscillators etc..

In CM magazine it says that you can choose the wave shape in Genisis to sine, saw, square etc etc, with the oscillators but theres nothing on there that says what shape im choosing.

Do you have to listen what shape it is or should it say somewhere in fruity loops the shape im choosing?

Also sometimes in the status/comment bar (the one which tells you about each button/knob etc.) it says "HaHa"! Is fruity mocking me uhoh

It's not ImageLine software so it probably won't be integrated with the status bar.

How are you selecting the waveform? Do you create it from scratch or are you just selecting from a drop down list?

I can tell a square - hallow like instrument sound but am strugling with the rest.

Ive been going from presets, if i tried resseting each dial one by one would these be easier to identify u think?

TBH i think i need to google some theory aan hopefully find some examples of each shapeuhoh

i am no expert, but out of the 3 you mentioned the sine would be the more mono-tonal (if thats the right word) and the saw is the more buzzing sound

Am pretty certain triangle is a waveform in itself along with sine, square , sawtooth.
