The only way I know how to gate a riff on Reason is in the key editor...but I'm there's gotta be a better method. Is there?

I haven't tried that...or I should say I haven't used the Matrix since I got my midi keyboard. Will it still work even though I've already written the riff in the NN-XT? I don't wanna gate it all the way through just periodically...I gated manually on the key editor, but think it could be smooter if I automate it.

yea it will work just connect the gate cv cables from the matrix to the nnxt..dont connect the note cv cable then just automate it to come on or off when you want to gate it

Believe, I know Reason has no VST capabilites, but like Dramatik say cause it can be rewired. who the fuck cares. Besides without using all the avaiable VSTs forces me to learn the ins and outs of modualtors, and as a beginner I alright with that.

if you're still beginning, i'd suggest moving over to something else...

i know that most people think that (what i use) FLStudio is some child's toy, so i won't suggest it cuz i don't wanna get flamed by a bunch of drum loop using side chain everything types

but maybe ableton? a lot of friends who used reason have switched over and couldn't be happier
