selling your collection...is it worth it these days

i mean, i have quite a big collection and i never play them and they take up alot of room, but would it be worth selling them?

it would be alot of hassle posting them etc, and i'd probably be really gutted - esp as i would get hardly anything back money wise

anyone done it?

I've decided to sell most of mine. Got told not to and i'd regret it but at the end of the day most are sitting there gathering dust. My theory is to sell them now before they become 'worthless' in the future. Just keep the vinyls u'll play and back up ones you like but willing to sell.

No believe me mate I went through the same thing about 2 years ago, it is worth putting them up for sale. Some people will disagree to be loyal to vinyl but nowadays is it really worth keeping them? I've been selling my collection on Discogs for a while now and on a lot of the tunes i've sold i've actually made more back than I paid for them.

Back them up to CD/mp3 whatever and sell it thumbsup

My opinion of course beer

Music Style All things House baby yeah!

Its a right job trying to shift them Sam, I've given up! I have sold a fair few over the years but at this point in time, even what used to be the most sought after of tune doesn't shift and if it does, its for pennies. Either keep them or just give them away mate, that's my opinion.

Buying new hh / nrg really does seem like throwing money away these days now

Don't matter how many new lables pop up - how many of those will get to 5 releases?

Half of them if they are lucky, and then they still seem to be struggling to sell 300 copy's

No second hand market anymore just means that anything you buy now will just gather dust in a year or so's time when everyman and his dog have raped the shit out of the tune making it pretty much worthless and a cunt to sell unless its for peanuts.

This is the first time I've EVER said it but hh / nrg really is dead on vinly imofrown
