Could anyone check my tune out and tell me what you think and any advice would be appreciated supercool

My player only plays the first part of the tune as I uploaded a to large file so it truncated and missed the end. If you like the sound of it you can down load it and check the rest out from this link http://rapidshare.com/files/125785534/Project_B-01.mp3.html

Had a little listen mate and the first thing that stands out is that the beggining of the tune takes far too long to get going, it needs alot more work with percussion to drive it along so that the bass is anticipated and wanted, at the moment the bass just sort of comes in out of nowhere... Also the bass to me sounds like it is in the wrong key with the rest of the lead sounds and acid that you have going on... Some of the actuall sounds you have got could be pretty good with some work, i think they need alot more emphasis with reverbs and delays and also quite alot of them sound like they are clipping at the moment... All in all the track needs alot more of everything really, more percussion, more work on the mixdown, arrangement and bass and more use of FX and some more leads in there that really drive the tune along and tie it all together... Hope that helps mate... thumbsup

It actually hasent been mixed down at all and have no effects units yet apart from the delays etc on the synth. Would you recomend I get some seperate vst's for that if so which ones?

I use SX3 too, i strongly advise that you look into getting Ableton running as a rewire slave within cubase, its great for getting ideas down fast and brainstorming... That should be more than enough synths to get you writing some decent tunes, alot of getting it to sound fat is in learning how to process your chosen sounds, thats where your plugins are gonna come in...

I strongly recommend you get all of these :

Camel space, Camel phat, PSP nitro, Arts acoustic reverb, URS classic console compressors, URS Classic EQ's, URS channel strip, Waves platinum bundle, Ohmforce Experience (all the ohmboyz plugins), Sonalskis complete plugins pack (TBK is great for filtering), Fab Filter volcano, Audio damage replicant, Audio damage Dr. Device...

On top of that little lot is all you will need is time, practice and patience...thumbsup

Thats a lot of plugins smile I knew I was missing the next step in the process all I got to do now is get my head down in the studio. Going to try and get some tuition aswell as its taken me a while to get this far on my own and I want to know it all now!

Thanks again,

Ed
