Hi Oktane just keeps getting better and better as those of you who attended Hi Oktane vs Storm will no doubt have noticed. More and more people are coming to each and every one, and the atmosphere just keeps getting better and better. The party has settled nicely into its home at My House (the club), and promoter Adam M puts more thought into each line-up than my parents spend thinking about cups of tea - and it really shows! As the FlashPoint Tour rolls into town for their official 5th Birthday Party, Hi Oktane brings you a massive world exclusive, and sets made up entirely of past, present and future FlashPoint Records artists.
Topping the bill is a very special, never-before seen back-to-back set from two of the biggest hard-beats producers of all time, with hundreds of productions between the two of them. If you ask any long-standing fan of the real hard stuff who their favourite producer is, the likelihood is they’ll either say Dom Sweeten aka Defective Audio/Base Graffiti, or Mik Cree aka Dynamic Intervention. Between them they have been responsible for so many anthems in the scene on their respective labels Spinball/Kaktai and DIP, and on every single Hard House label out there, that it makes my head hurt. This will really be something special!
Hi Oktane resident and one of the FlashPoint bosses - Marc Johnson – is also going to be performing a special set at this night – an action-packed romp through the best of FlashPoint since the label launched in 2003. You can expect every single track to be one which has destroyed countless dancefloors over the years, and still get dropped to the delight of a delirious crowd. Sundissential resident and Elasticman legend Ilogik, who has just completed his Shrink Wrapped remix of Rodi Style’s ‘Burn It’, returns to the Hi Oktane 1s and 0s to rock the dancefloor once again. One of the most consistently exciting DJs on the circuit.
Frank Farrell is an artist whose appearances on FlashPoint Records are well into double figures, with collaborations, Munkjack productions and solo productions galore. Now owner of Igloo Wax and turning out some of the freshest and most unique productions in the scene, his set is guaranteed to blow you away. Promoter Adam M has had a fair few studio sessions recently with a certain Dave Owens, the other half of Munkjack, including the wicked ‘A-Class’ signed to FlashPoint, and has chosen to do a special back-to-back with Dave. Dave’s recent engineering has really started to take the piss with how good it is, so you can bet this set will have some seriously good tunage in it!
Marc’s FlashPoint partner Jupe is also over from the Dominican Republic especially for the birthday and will be doing a back-to-back set with the FlashPoint Digital label manager, Dave Curtis. They’ll have plenty of upfront FlashPoint material as well as a load of new productions to spin between them and can guarantee you a storming set of future classics! And last but certainly not least, we have Tom Parr. Tom started off his production career with some absolute stormers which have gone on to become some of FlashPoint Digital’s best sellers. Now boss of new label Atomik Reaction and slaving away in the studio non-stop, Tom will have a one-off production showcase of entirely new material for this set.
Once again Funk Deluxe will be providing the house beats in Room 2, headlined by the uber-talented residents Dean H and Em Extreme. Joining them this time round will be Jade Brooks, hardstyle nut Tyronnster playing an exclusive house set, Glen C and Trojan Beats.
