Music Style Going away, back again another day

Just found a stack of 12 unopened / still sealed 80 minute MiniDiscs in a box full of studio gear.

There's 6 Sony coloured ones, 4 TDK plain black and 2 TDK colour.

Fiver all in if anyone wants them before I stick em on eBay. thumbsup

Personally i always found them to have a better sound quality then CD's, Dunno why though, They are just the same except smaller right? I always used minidiscs for my recordings as the bass was a lot better on them then cd's thumbsup

Not as good, they use a proprietary compression codec (ATRAC) to achieve approx 1/6 compression from standard CD quality. The codec was really ahead of it's time but has been superseded by MP3 and then AAC.

I used to record through my DAT machines DACS to get a warmer sound and prob the same for the minidisc as recording direct with cubase was too clinical sounding for me. Because the electronics were top notch and expensive back then they were quality within DAT's and minidiscs. give it a go, you may or maynot notice it smile

I now record through my Digital desk which gives me that warmer sound smile
