Jen, enjoyed the mix..

as with most people on BT, your beatmatching is spot on.. the odd slip is totally cool in my book - i mean i like techno and the mixing can be quite rutheless especially on the squat scene..

so again a cool mix - i'm not a massive fan of new styled "hard dance etc.." but you made it flow well - i know most of the shapes as my mate plays a very similar style..

my one view on constructive critacism is: you sound confident with what your doing - your mixing is tight & long.. but sometimes i feel that some chopping or your own unique style would help define what your doing.. i don't claim to do this myself - i try but hey it may not be a style you like..

so basically a wicked mix but a little more fun to be shown by you even if it means the odd chewn slipping further would make a mix that i felt more personel and.. it would also give me the sense of your passion and enjoyment..

overall - cracking my dearthumbsup winkthumbsup

pm me your add'e re: my cd smile

Hi Rog smile I would agree with you that I could probably get a little more involved in my mixing. I get so caught up in getting it all (& trying to get it) beatmatched that I tend to lose sight of having fun with cuts and things like that as that does sound good and adds a personal touch, like you say.  It is something I am learning to do more and working on but not at this stage confident enough with it. I guess I feel my passion comes through with the tunes I've chosen, for the timebeing smile Thanks heaps for listening and the feedback it was much appreciated!! thumbsup PM coming your way smile

I didn't realise until I read this post that the mix cut off halfway through Punk!

My limit was set at 100 megabytes and my mix is around 107 megabytes so that explains it! I will be rectifying that in the next day or so.

If anyone has had a chance to listen and has anymore feedback in the meantime that would be great. Thanx smile

I've just finished listening again to George E's Sotu mix and there wasn't a single cut, chop, spinback or scratch in it and people raved about it on here, so I guess for some people, they show their individuality without that sort of stuff. I'm personally a big fan of it, but others obviously think it's not suited to their style.

That's me also Jen. I concentrate too hard so don't actually get into the music enough. When ive had a drink and am messing about on my dex I do some better mixing because im into it more and alot more relaxed. It's like the hear the music more so my mixes come out better and I do more trixthumbsup

I really enjoyed listening to this mix. There is enough progression and variation to keep me interested. The programming is spot on, every tune sounds like it is in the right place. The only thing that lets it down is the beatmatching - no real howlers, just not quite 'there' in a lot of places. Live this would not really be a problem, but on a recording it will stop me listening again.

How long have you been playing for Jen?

Liz  yeah same same ... its true after a bevvie or if I'm just mucking around I'll mess about more. Something seems to happen when I hit the record button I get so focused on not stuffing it up!

And hey Rog I *really* do appreciate your words and have taken it all on board smilesmile Thankyou thumbsupthumbsup

also jen - another point raised by skelp..

playing on a big rig minor "untight beats" are not really noticed - i'll send you a few cd's in the next few days - your notice my mixing isn't always that tight - i think i just went through the stage of getting as tight as i could - then thought.. fu*k it - i want to enjoy and not over concentrate - i guess we all have our own thing eh..

get dishing cd's out - get playing on a loud system.. and then your be aware of how forgiven big rigs can be on generall beatmatching (imo) wink

Rog, I've heard people mention that before. It would be interesting to see what playing a club system would be like smile And hey, appreciate the honesty Skelp thumbsup

Glad you liked it Bretty, cheers smile
