first attempt at hardhouse - MATRIX feedbackplease

After invaluable help on here and good wake up call to other features of REASON i have started to learn the other instruments as i go.

 

I have seen how the MATRIX thing can create warped basslines.

 

Anyway here it is,aptly named the Matrix as it goes.

you need to stop rushing tunes mate, take your time with them and get it right, one good track is better than 100 shit ones.

Hardhouse usually has an off beat bass, unlike your tune. Sometimes its split so its a rolling bass, but even then its usually on the off...

Kick Bass Kick Bass, try that mate instead of random rex loops

Yea, it needs a more forceful Kick and Bassline. Some of the elements work ok and give a quirky edge. It would benefit more by having a stand out main riff of some kind.

It was my first attempt at it,and was just for fun.

 

I was just interested in where it was going wrong.It was fun to tit about with the MATRIX and a lot easier to use than i thought after making effort on YOUTUBE.

 

I'll bare both points in mind.Keep em coming it can only help

I think when people pointed out to me here about panning & EQ'ing.i always try now to use both,it opened my eyes to making more of an effort to learn the other goodies in REASON aswell.

 

I do feel i'm glad i've come on this site,because on other sites all i got was comments on tracks and never about production and that doesn't help me to every get signed by any possible labels.

 

I have learnt a lot on here.The help i had on PLAYING WITH HEART about being 6 tunes in 1,made me have a good look at it again and now i understand a hell of lot more about structure and stuff.

 

So yes not going to lie its HURT,but i'm happier with constructive critism.

 

Will start to learn stereo imaging,the lot now and eventually probably get of REASON onto ACID or CUBASE if i ever buy it.

reason is a software which can be used in multiple ways.

ive been using reason for years and still find new techniques.

 

 

Yes i'm deffo glad i've made an effort on youtube with some of the features.

 

Having fun with the MATRIX instrument and most of the others are beginning to fall into place.

Yeh i added some EQ to an old track of mine last night OVERDOSE and after just 5 minutes you could hear the depth and clarity to the drum patterns a lot more.

Working on one but not letting it loose until i've got 100% right.Its another techno/rave one.Just need to tweak a few bits.

 

Pleae just keep helping me on production tips when its up,as thats much better than like it,don't like it.
