A certain professional decent label owner and producer gave me some good advice and said fuck bt just send them to the labels behind the scenes and get advice and feedback that way because if people have slated your tunes on the feedback forum it ruins the buzz for release on the label its coming out on thumbsup

I don't get a lot of time to make tunes so I only want to invest that time on the most worthwhile ideas.

Well, I used to have over 100 producers in my MSN list but I can't log into the account any more. Basically I'm starting from scratch on the whole feedback thing.

Its cool mate the thing is on bt feedback people will try and pick the slightest faults on clips you show them just because most of them want to appear inteligently critical or just plain sarcastic and some generally constructive

ive always taken the constructive critisism on board but to the sensitive producer bt can be fucking annoying on your productions and the way you see them after some big twat has gone "it sounds the cowbells overpowering the rest of da tune and the bass notes are an inch long they should be an inch and 2mm long" then go back to your own productions not really giving a shit what they said but conciosly in the back of your mind thinking theres something not quite right with the cowbell no matter what you do to it thumbsup

Heh, I know what ya mean. Forums aren't great for feedback to be honest. Half the time people get into an argument on your thread or go off on a tangent about what they got up to at the pub last night. That's why I started my music producer site, so producers could get decent feedback. SoundCloud is kinda what I wanted it to become, but with more emphasis on being a mix of what SoundCloud is and a music mag like Computer Music.

BT is the worst feeback forum I've ever encountered.

It's basically one big circle jerk where all the 'up and comers' big up the established producers somehow thinking that it's going to help their own pathetic production career. Anyone who isn't established simply doesn't get feedback.

Any feedback that is given is "i like it" (because it's nails) or "Not my cup of tea" (stock answer to anything posted on BT that isn't nails) which is retard's feedback and doesn't help anyone.

It happens on other forums too. The thing is, feedback isn't given deep enough at all. It would be nice for top producers to leave some feedback for up and coming producers, but that just doesn't happen, never has and never will, maybe they are too busy.

Yea i agree you are your own critic so to speak and you 'know' what needs to be done in order improve, but at the same time you do need feedback from honest people. I'm not saying to believe in discussion, just to believe the majority of in depth feedback.

Would you rather find out people don't like something about your tune by getting some feedback before you release it or by getting hardly any sales? Commander, do you know the expression "where there's smoke there's fire?"

well the guy insulted me so i insulted him back that's the way these things work. and its "there is no smoke without fire" and wow i have a unique point of view, just because millions of people think Jesus is going to send them to hell doesn't mean its true does it? orbital are always asking for feedback the other day justice rang me up needing feedback too and prodigy are always nagging me is the intro too long? uhoh

and anything i say on here i can assure you id say to your face i am not afraid of any mortal man just like the police tell me "you need to learn to keep your mouth shut"

i can assure you i am not a stupid brainwashed mind rotting droog like you, you probably watch tv and do other gay activities. the fact you need to ask stupid questions " i need to find somewere people can tell me my tunes are gash" well if you cant tell yourself your tunes are gash your not an artist picasso was always asking my grandfather for advice yer like fuck he learnt his trade and created amazing works of art thats all im fucking saying jesus christ i really dont even understand what you people are trying to get at here iv already stated if your learning feedback from your peers is golden i wish i had that option fuck man you kids should all be making absolutly slamming tracks like danny byrd said if he had reason back int he day he would have been producing in weeks you people dont know your born . i could give you a 909 and 2 303s and you wouldnt be happy youd still find somthing to fucking moan about " o the cymbal is distorting slightly" the snare is slightly phased ".

like i said before just shut up and get the fuck on with it in a couple of months i should have my first release out in years IL reach beat port and the clubs you wont think about that you childish moron.

Fair do's, yea a mix of past and future bodes well within a sound and the comedy can be the catchy part. The track is completed now and glad you like the idea.

yer rob u got the Jedi vibe man its all about them ideas and not taking things too seriously. allot of people don't properly understand the craft and overlook important factors like the voodoo of music or the the psychological aspects, fuck knows IL talk shop all day lol tell you what iv been using allot lately is this Lucifer plug in don't get me wrong im a Jesus sort of guy myself lol but man is that plugin somthing to worship . if you get the chance check it out bit of a cunt to get used to at first but the more i read the manual the more i like this plugin.

Good luck with that. Labels get tons of demos and unless you have something particularly special you'll be lucky to get any sort of response.

Besides, sometimes I just want some opinions on an idea. I don't want to waste 30 hours on a tune if people think it's cack.

The irony of it all is that I used to run a website for music producers specifically designed to give quality feedback. Sigh.

My label has been very busy with demos lately, i get 50+ demos between myself and my label partner every week minimum, a lot of them are shite but i reply to every one. It's only good manners. Had to get a blackberry to manage my mail on the move

Jeez Commander you need an anger management course or something. You want people to accept that you think differently to them but then you attack them for thinking differently to you. "pots and kettles" as Venkman said. The world isn't painted in black and white, everyone is different. What works for you won't necessarily work for someone else.

Can you honestly tell me you've never bought a great track which was not DJ friendly? I've bought loads of good tunes where the producer did something like switch from onbeat to offbeat a minute into the tune which made it far too risky to mix into a set at a club where the accoustics are shoddy. I'll rather use a track where I can guarantee I will get the mix right.

Sometimes I work on a tune and get so bogged down with the engineering I lose sight of the overall feel of the tune and can't see the wood for the trees. At times like that it helps to have someone tell me where I'm going wrong.

Sometimes I get into a mood where I question every sound or think the whole tune is crap. Then I play it to someone expecting them to hate it and they love it. That fires me back up. Sometimes people need a bit of encouragement.

You know, it's fine for you to have a different opinion but when people challenge your ideas you resort to petty schoolyard tactics, hurling insults or changing the subject. What sort of response do you expect?

Kudos for getting a release. May your supreme confidence generate you many sales.

if i was you toolbox id purchase Dom and equinoxes sounds they are the minerals in the scene what i upload will be far out there mad town crap and for hard house be doubtful it will suit you. doms last sample pack was off the scales he should include more imho but its evident the guy can design sounds thumbsup
