Gaz mate he was Djing from a real young age, Remember him touring Asia when he was 18 and now he's 28 mate.

he aint been at the for front since he was 18 your being stupid now, he burst on scene no more than 5 years ago, he deffo aint been big since the year 2000, come on Mark haha!

gIazby started getting recognition around then, even eddie hadnt been noticed tiI about 2002/3..........

I can see why Gaz and a lot of people are hacked off at the Kutski vote but I can see why he's been given the award, he's been DJing since he was a nipper, influenced people to DJ and produce, has brought a lot of people into the scene via his Radio 1 slot, his musical styles is diverse which brings a lot to the table.

Yeh kutski has been around about 10 years but I also think Andy Farley, Ben Stevens, Nik Denton plus a few more deserve that award as well. Just don't know how you can say Kutski doesn't.

he aint been known for my than i got into the scene either, and that was after 2001, and it wasnt for at Ieast 3 - 4 years before i knew about him

Anyway back to last year as that's when this award was for, last years contribution not 10 years ago lol

In 2001(ish), 12 Inch Thumpers told me about this very talented kid they were working with in the studio called Kutski.

ok, but i thought outstanding contribution, meant years of hard work into something, not just 1 poxy year...thats how its been with that award in any other 'awards' besides this one.

fair play to kutski - he's done a lot more than most to help things along.

he's open minded enough to support new music without the producers/labels having to kiss his arse, which is a major breath of fresh air

I might not like everything he play's but he seems to strike a good balance with his show and he's got the kind of positive attitude that I wish more people had.

naa my point isnt how Iong he's been dj'ing as the greek surnamed one cant get his head round, its how Iongs he's been recognised by most peeps or how Iong he's been at the top of the game.

Let's be realistic... when you start talking about Lifetime Achievement Awards (or whatever the gong was he won) in hard house / hard dance music... it's not going to take you long to exhaust your potential winners over a couple of years of giving it out is it?

Once you get past TDV, Tidy Boys, and BK, you're pretty much done.

Paul has summed it up pretty well. I'm not narrow minded I like all styles and don't see why kutski doesn't deserve it. He has done a lot for the Hard Dance djs / producers and clubbers the past 2 - 3 years and yes so has farley / stevens / denton / tidy boys ect so if they won that would be well deserved also
