wont be goin anywhere near it, not even tempted, wouIdnt use 99% of the stuff on it. channeIs, eq's, thats aII i need.
really?

that mixer + 4 cdjs 2000's + traktor and all its looping and effects capabilities + another laptop running ableton with a NI maschine is the setup i will put together...

possibilities will be endless!!

dont forget he plays hard house and nrg.
haha i cant tell if youre trying to stir or not...

but yea that is a fair point i suppose, not really the sort of genre that lends itself to multi channel mixing/etc...

but effects are looping can be mean in hardhouse!!

exactly, you can be creative with any genre however I havent seen hard house/nrg dj mix it up for a while now. If they do they usually start their mix with 2 tunes layered over each other and thats about it. Then its back to that "Ill just wait for  that little break in this tune, then ill let the next one go. Then ill slowly turn bass knob on this tune down and on the other one up and move my crossfader half way across. Then ill wait for the next little break and bang, move my crossfader all the way across. Then ill do a little dance and be all proud of my accomplishment." business.

Available June 2010....

Suggested retail price of $2999 eeek

Just over £2000 then eeekeeek

Knowing Pioneer, they'll just switch the $ sign for a £ instead of actually bothering with any pesky currency conversions...

because mixing the end of two tunes together is boring as fuck when you do it all the time, and totally uninspiring... and even so, Sasha and co used to play 3 and 4 records all at once years ago... its hardly a new thing.

creating a NEW piece of music, by using elements from 3 or 4 different tracks, is so much more fun.

Why not just make new music
why not do both?

new music is hard to get crowd recognition with, unless you are a big artist, making big tunes that people know, if youre doing BOTH, dropping new music, ontop of anthems, and edits of your own, then its keeps it interesting...

and the techno scene is all a bunch of djs and chin strokers anyway hahahaha

It does look wicked, and I for one would try and use most of the features.

This elitist bollocks about techno needing somekind of more skill is shameful. I have mixed both from the outset (since bout 10-15 yrs ago) and they both require skill, Just in different ways. Tis lush when you have 3 techno tracks going and your just fucking with the EQ and levels to make new sounds or even just to use a certain percussion loop from a track. However, tis also rather yum when you bring a bassline in, with the synth still going from the other track. (ala Hard House) That doesn't just happen, has to be planned and made sure the keys fit etc...

Plus with some techno you can get away with being sloppy. With hard house, the moment it's out, everyone knows. There is also the fact the music is slower so you have more time to fuck about.

Is it so impossible to give the other genre's credit? Shit, I don't like Enya. Not about to go on her forum (if she has one) and say it's all wank cos I like something 10 bpm slower. warning

Unlike Gaz, I do prefer the trickery and whatnot, if you dont move with the times n all that.....

Just my 2 penneths

P.S. Did just buy a DJM800 about 2 months ago tho frown

Without a doubt mate. Once someone gets to grips with the FX, they tend to ruin everything with a delay or filter! Or even worse it sounding like a fucking drill every 2 seconds

Just think that they can be utilised quite well without disrupting the flow of the set. That's where the skill comes in imo. Most of the DJ's round here just cut the shit out of everything then stick a flange on it! Tis easy doing all the flashy shit but to make it sound good is a whole other ball game.
