I think its the make up gain on the bass compressor thats made it a bit loud, i set it to auto coz im sidechaining it off the kick to give it that groove, but it was killing the bass a bit when there was a drum roll, so i used the auto gain function, bit lazy i suppose! I'll just automate the gain instead and knock the volume down a db or 2.
Agreed with the synth, only trouble im having is adding fx like reverb/delay seem to be pushing it back in the mix, whats the main reason for this? or even better whats a common solution to keep it up front while been processed with fx???
More than appreciated for everyones comments, thanks loads, and it's comments and advice like this that allow myself and other upcoming producers to learn and keep the scene alive. i've learned majority of the stuff i know from here, just from listening to other peoples tracks and reading their feedback.
