The structure is a bit odd for me and I can't really hear a theme in the track which stands out in anyway. A lot of different sounds flying about but it seems like 2 tracks meshed into one.

I like the old skool shots though there are a lot of breaks which drain the tune of energy. The beats are interesting thought a bit of variation would perhaps add a bit more to the tune.

As a tune I like some of your key changes though they drift in and out.

Thanks Alex.Well it was that first drop, that too me was distinctive i thought.I then just progressed off it. The piano part was a funny one,i kind of slotted it in,as i had originally had that bit of another riff, which didn't seem to fit.Thing is l liked the piano and couldn't decide whether it should stay or go uhoh.

Basically the tracks been a bit hard work, and i'm just glad to finish it.I too couldn't tell whether you'll remember the opening sound, the piano or neither or what. looking

But that said,i still quite like it tbh.

Thanks for commenting anyway mate. thumbsup

Happy just to dismiss this one,its on my new album, and get cracking on new material. This one was me trying to revamp on old track, and ended up creating a new track.A mess basically in how it was to perform thumbsup

Some 90's oldschool rave i remember did mix techno + piano together,so i thought it might work.Take Prodigys YOUR LOVE, or whatever as an idea.I am still learning with this progression and more imortantly getting stronger melodies.

Hi mate I know youve said youre not going to touch it now but (and Im not expert on this genre) I would add a bit of interest in there (cut out bits, down sweeps, minimise some parts before breakdown)

Id also check all your synths, drums and vocals are in the right key, I know sometimes this is a good effect on breaks trax, but something sounds seriously outta key in the whole arrangement..

Like Ive said before I am no expert on this genre, so you can choose to ignore my thoughts altogether..

Ive also found when making tunes if it starts to become a chore to get it right, start a new one.. then come back to it once youve got into the next one..

Ive started making my trax at the "guts" of the track - Ill make a 4 bar loop of the most interesting part of the track (usually after breakdown - when it all comes crashing back in!), then once Im really happy with it, copy n paste the whole lot out for the duration of the track.. then Ill layer it up to the breakdown, remove bits.. make cuts.. Leave fx till last generally.. .

Hope that helps mate.. btw Im an ableton user so I dont know how easy that is in Reason mate!! ... biggrinbiggrin

Hi M8,

It should all be C??. I double check all my riffs, and none of it was samples(i.e. all created sounds from scratch),so the key thing i wouldn't have thought would be an issue.

Yeh,well i'm looking at it for a bit laughing, its driving me mad.
Pc went pop this week aswell so been re-installing windows all week, and its still not right looking

Thanks for feedback.I think thats how i generally do it actually, but i bare in mind all points people tell me.

I do try now after learning in last few weeks biggrin to remember to cut bits out before breakdown and get people ready for when it drops and stuff.

Maybe i'll have another go sometime as i do like that opening riff, and feel it has promise eyesup.

Cheers thumbsup

I'm not sure that opening hook is strong enough.

Anyway i'm writing dance/electro next.I have one more sort of Prodigy style rave one. What i mean by that is its got words and rave and i'm trying for a sort of Take Me To Hospital approach, but obviously not in same league as theres, but that sort of idea.

Also got an electro one i started a month ago and revamping an old dance one i wrote.

Cheers. Please keep feedback coming when i put one of them up,as its got to help understand more about writing music in longrun.
