so I am just about to arrive in London, as I sold all my studio when left NZ I now need to buy everything again!

I need 8" monitors (behringer), midi keyboard (M-audio 3 octaves), DJM800 & 2 x CDJ1000mk3's.
Where is the best place I can buy all this gear, preferably second hand....

can you recommend any websites or anything else really?

cheers!

DV are also the only place I know that has a 4 year warrantee on everything, and they pricematch too.

Studio gear is about the 1 thing I've not had a problem with from ebay. You might also want to look at Gumtree too, loads of people unload equipment on there.

DV247 were nothing short of awful when I tried to buy my Moog.  They advertised it as being in stock when I bought it and continued to do so for a month after that.  They weren't at all helpful when I called and just kept pushing the delivery date further and further back until I was forced to cancel after over a month's worth of excuses.

Maybe I was just unlucky.

www.chemicalrecords.co.uk are reasonable priced and well established, if you are based around Bristol/South West then you could go and pick up. www.dv247.com have stores around the country to demo and pick up, not had any problems with them before. That ebay link only has 3 feedback, would not fancy giving £2000 to someone with 3 feedback in their ebay profile!

the croydon (I think) branch of DV247 were a complete bunch of cocksmokers when I last bought stuff there, didnt have a clue in the slightest, I cant think of an aspect of it they didnt fuck up to be honest, quoted wrong price, sent wrong goods and then generally fucked me about for a while.... They have been good in the past though

When i asked DV on the phone about their new 4 yr warranty on everything they sold, they had just introduced it and the guy on the phone said, they didnt even know how they were going to work it, hence why there are so many clauses in the small print, pages of do's and dont's, i wouldnt buy from DV simply cos of their 4 year warrenty, as the DV guy said, its virtually unworkable, so beware peeps.

Dolphin Music are good for new stuff, otherwise ebay, gumtree, or local free adds.

nah mate, shipping from NZ is so expensive eh, I shipped my sound card and a few items from my house and some clothing in a DHL box and it costed me $300 NZD! I wouldnt even know how much if I wanted to ship my studio! plus it could have broken on the way or know what!
Buying it again now it will be similar price as everything sold together was, plus I get a few upgrades here and there! wink

Feedback in this case doesn't mean anything.  It's cash on collection - if they don't exist you don't pay, just walk away!  If you have no transport though...

I think it has better features than the 2000!  It's got the slip mode and the beat chopper.  Much more creative machine.

However, I'd go for traktor pro if you were thinking of going down this route!
