It's the same for any hard genre of music, their scenes always have ups and downs. Hardstyle will start falling off it's hard perch in about 2 years when people get bored of listening to the same shit and realise it's mostly gash.
Hardcore had a really big peak in the 90's then went down the pan when everyone got bored of it. Then a few years ago it started to make a big comeback almost back to its original popularity.
Hard House had it's peak years ago we all know that, then the digital age came which almost completely destroyed it a few years back but now it is definitely on it's way back up now everyone has adjusted to the digital age.
There's lots of events on, shitloads of new tunes released most weeks and there's a good buzz about it all again IMO.
It's not dead at all, people just try and compare it with a huge scene and say it's dead.
