With the Mac on the way, figuring I should upgrade from USB to FW. I've read a lot of back and forth info online...which hasn't helped. Right now, I use my external USB SC to run my monitors, keyboard and to record the occasional set from time time. With that said, anyone got any reccos for an external FW SC? thumbsup

its all depending on what connections you need , i had a edirol fa 101 , probably the best card I'v owned , had a motu 828 usb and it was shite  , but motu do work close with macs , go fire wire if you think of motu , but if you wanna go cheep cheep the swissonic easy fire is good  thumbsup less than 30 euro i think ? again all depends what connections your after

ive got an edirol fa66, does the job, suplies the mons, and setup to record mixes and records for sampling, dont do anything more than that on it sorry. so cant say about the other stuff. you will need a FW800 to 400 cable though, it wont come with one, only 400.

Thanks for the suggestions fellas thumbsup...I do like the Edirol(s).

As far as connections...the only ones I'm currently using are 1 - Midi I/O, 2- TRS  Out, 2 - Mic/Inst In

Picked up an FA-66 from eBay for $120. The seller claims it is perfect condition...hopefully it's a true statement.
