Music Style Next Level Hard Trance

I value ALL your opinions.....people think im getting all defensive....honestly....im not!

Im just telling people how it is....it IS a new style of hard trance.....your listening to a 2 min clip and both tracks are 12 mins long.....you have to understand it is going to sound a little different to most hard trance and to be honest the music me and my friend produce comes from the heart.....were not in it for the money......were not making it how its "supposed" to be made!

We come from a background of listening to Scot Project,Wag,Trance Generators,Accenter and 3`o,Hennes and Cold,Warmduscher,Uberdruck.....so i think our knowledge is powerful enough to put onto vinyl.....difference being? Its a NEW style of hard trance.....fed up of listening to the same layouts ALL the time....

....Hard trance back in the day when Scot project was dark and creative was brilliant to listen to but we all have to admit that the sound has changed since and as im into the darker stuff and none was about and still isnt....we wanted to make the music ourselves! I do admire some parts of production producers put into the music they make but its only ELEMENTS of good value! For example....i heard a new Chemical Brothers track yesterday and they do some mad stuff with LFO through CC#.....Scot Project must of had a mad pitching program when he made a track not so long ago.....Uberduck use made effects processors and are good at finding individual sounds.....its important to me and my mate for a track to have good production along with all the other main elements that make up a good trance track! A colourful bassline rich in harmonics.....one that can filter well......a fat beat.....nice percussion......analogue style sounds....or analogue! (shame we cant afford an anologue synth)....background sounds are important too....the little details.....all this feels the natural way for us to make this music that we are selling!

Its good to see what people are saying about the track even if its not good....at least your putting effort into replying to my topic!

Oh....someone was dissing the label....im 23...my mates 23.....life is hard....money isnt good.....it had to be a low budget label.....for now! Main thing is we got our music out there! Our Mastering Engineers are good too.....big respect to those guys.....actually....if i remember correctly our pressing plant is that of the same as Stay Up Forever Records! Anyhow.....

Just a little insight for you so you understand why we have created this type of music!

Thanks all,

               Troy (and James)......The Brethren......Brethren records.

If this track wasnt for sale on Banging Tunes then i would say...ok....your right!

As these Brethren tracks ARE for sale on Banging Tunes it makes things a little different!

Different because? Management at Banging Tunes accepted this track...thus meaning it passes the standards test.

I did notice none of you who replied had "hard trance" as your music style so i cant really take your views serious enough although you probably know about production....you probably dedicate your ears to your OWN style of music and not the style of others....

That means fuck all mate I'm afraid. I presume you've got em in stock on a sale or return basis, (and I know you have, as there's 29 in stock, pretty much meaning that there were 30 to begin with, and I know Kristian would'nt take 30 units of an unknown artist if it wasn't on SOR) in this case Kristian will stock just about anything that remotelly comes into the hard music catagory as there's no risk whatsoever. If he only sells 2 copies he'a not lost a penny.

I'm not that much into hard trance anymore, did used to be though, but, your production in my opinion needs a lot more work, you're either very brave, or a bit on the slow side to be investing money pressing half assed material like that.

Soz if that sounds harsh, but you did ask.

Good luck anyway.

OK mate.....but if you read what i said?........THE BRETHREN ARE NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY......this music comes from our soul......you dont like it.....nobody else likes it....it doesnt matter! WHY??? Because were individuals!......also....you may know about how the sale process works at Banging and you may know the management at Banging.....you may know alot? Im obviously less intelligent than you?

Im not here for war.....you,along with 99% of people on here can say exactly what you want but honestly.....its not going to change how The Brethren produces music!

I dont understand why people cant respect the fact that were making music like this.....not everybody is into the same style of music...i understand that.....so why cant you?

Look at Hard Style......this is a new style of Trance/Techno.....i dont particularly like it but i respect the fact that someone has created this new style of music which has taken the sound to a new level!

I know i asked for feedback but no need for all the swearing and disrespectful comments you people make on here......just live and let live!

Thanks,

          Troy......The Brethren.....Brethren Records.

Had listen to both samples.......I dont like them, they sound to hollow and 1992 for me. I think you should consider naming the music you do something else as it is not a new form of hard trance IMO, because it is not hard and it has no element of trance in there as it chops and changes too much to allow for the listener to slip in a trance while listening to it. I do understand that we have only short samples to listen too, but I can say unless I was wanting to buy old sounding experimental tracks this record would not ever be considered for purchase.

I think your production needs work but I believe you have a good base to work from and I have heard much worse.

I am thinking germans in lederhosen, in some sweaty german club. in 1992.

I think to sum it up, this is a dance record and if this came on I would go to the toilet or something, not being nasty but it doesnt make me wanna dance - its not very well made or a style that seems popular... it could be early rave (and bad early rave) so I would dissagree that its a new style... sorry, im just keeping it real as they say..uhoh

Also, in reply to you using the same people as SUF to master, dont they use curvepusher (I think thats the right name) which if I remember reading the leaflet that came out of a pounding grooves record - its available for hire like any other business, and yes it is mastered well and does sound reasonably crisp - but you still need to work on it, the tune doesnt flow at5 all and sounds like a mish mash... sorry...

Probably a good thing your not in it for the money, cause your gonna lose a lot of it if you keep pressing stuff like this.

My advice would be to spend some more time working on creating better tracks before you jump into gettin them pressed. Getting them pressed doesnt mean jack if the tunes are rubbish.

Cant get a full picture of the song from the 2 small samples, but i didnt hear anything that stood out.

You had some good sounds in there, i think you would be better suited to creating some form of hardstyle tracks (Gabber, Hardcore, Speedcore, Noisecore... something along those lines). Try cranking up the bpm on your tracks.

Another thing. With your comment on how your tracks are different because they are longer. It should be about quality not quantity.

sorry mate, i couldn't resist takin a stab. actually, i didn't even listen to it yet, but i just did. honestly. it's a really bad song. sound like the production quality was okay. i see music as a way to make you feel a certain way, and good tracks make you feel good. excellent tracks make you feel fucken awesome. your track made me feel cracked out and shitty. try to get some better flow to it. that's basically how i judge a track. better luck next time. thumbsup

Music Style TIMMEH & THE LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD!

i think these lot are giving you too hard a time tbh.  I listened to the Aside and i liked it although it does not sound all that new to me - its like old acid trance and techno trance, definitely got that german tip going on in there like hennes and cold.  This would sit well in a set at a free/outdoor party i think.  I like the progressive edge to it but it wouldnt cut the mustard with most prog DJ's.  Nice cross over tune for warm up sets and a break from bang bang bang. Try sending it to some of the planet Zogg dj's, that kind of a hippy trance night.  Nights for this kind of thing seem a bit thin on the ground of late but there are people who would play thisthumbsup

I wasn't struck on the B side though and think that some of the comments that have already been made kinda fit this. Tis a bit wishy washy and doesn't seem to know where it is heading (either that or its the way you've put the sample together for BT)

Music Style Suck it.

Sorry, but I have to agree with everyone else man... The tracks are lacking!  There ARE some cool elements in them.  Sounds like some old school german hard when hard trance was coming out or something, I wasnt around anyways.  I dont think it is next level hard trance at all.  It sounds a bit digressed IMHO. The sound quality is pretty good thumbsup. I dunno, I dont have much say anyway (noob status).  Good luck with it.

LMAO at the sweaty german club thing.  Funny shit.

just checked out this tune and I thinks its pretty cool.  its dark and a little strange which makes the misplaced commercial trance sounds even better.  It's like someone took a nick sentience tune and went aphex twin on its ass.

I had a listen and i must say that these tracks sound like a mangle of different percussion and bass, the tracks dont sound tight, as in something sounds off beat in there or maybe not but they just dont sound right to me. No offence mate thumbsup

Fair play to you for getting your own press done but I honestly don't think either tunes are ready for release.

I thought it sounded really sterile, the percussion sounds like general midi sounds (especially the shaker) and the synthesisers have no clout to them. If this was played in a club, what effect do you think it would have? I can't imagine many DJs putting this in a set because it isn't current - The "next level hard trance" as you call it sounds like old German Techno.

There doesn't seem to be any cohesion or flow to it and it doesn't sound like the parts would fit together. I appreciate that there is 12 minutes (!) of it but it seems there isn't much "go" to the tune - if it stops and starts too much then people won't dance to it which will result in DJs not touching it.

Without wanting to sound patronising, I honestly think it would be worth spending your money on a music production course rather than putting out records for the moment.
