Same here - Virgin have always been great - service is generally superb for BB/TV/phone.

However if something goes wrong, then they're biggest unhelpful shits you're ever likely to have the displeasure of dealing withtosser

Depends what you go for. I've got the fibre at 50mb and after bad teething problems its ok now. But if you get broadband from Sky, BT or Virgin, it still goes over the same phone line. The only thing you'll get thats difference is the crap up time that Virgin and Sky have.

Luckily the phone calls are free but the days/weeks wasted talking to the cunts, you'll never get backviolent. Still, when it works, it works goooooodlaughing

I was on Virgin 20mb for ages (and it was always spot on what it should be) then I upgraded to 50mb in November and it's been mint until recently.

Downloading 5.5-6mbps and uploading around 200-210 kbps.

I say recently because for the past 2 months it's been running at 30mb. Apparently there is a fault in the area with the upstream utilization. It should have been fixed by now but it hasn't yet.

To be fair though they have been refunding quite a bit each time we've had a problem. Last month they refunded me £45 off my months bill, which is basically the 50mb cost p/m so I can't complain about their service.

They do try and palm you off with some dodgy bullshit artist from Pakistan first off to try and "solve issues" etc. Just go through to disconnections instead and they'll sort you out thumbsup

Bollocks.  If anything goes wrong with my V+ box, they'll replace it FOC (it remains their property).  Just to get a Sky engineer out to your house is about £70 thumbsdown

We just got ours installed- 20mb service along with phone & TV.
No issues so far I have to say. We had an issue with the connection dropping and they sent an engineer out really swiftly to sort the problem out.

The only thing I would say is the customer service drones don't listen or explain things properly- you need to try and get through to the specialist department like technical support to get a sensible answer although it can be quite hard with their ridiculous number of options when you ring.... press 1 for this and 2 for that- sod off I want to talk to a human!

Nothing but nothing beats O2 for service. They're fantastic and their connection is very good too.
We only left them because they don't offer a whole package- only bb.

Any time you have a problem, go straight through to "If you're thinking of leaving us, press 2" laughing

You'll get straight through to disconnections and speak to someone from this country, and they'll help you out thumbsup

We moved from sky to virgin, never really had any problems and the speed always seems as it should be, my folks have just moved across too as the phone line always crackled, net cut off when the phone rang and all sky would do when you rang was get you to check wires and say it was a fault our end.... no issues like that with fibre optic.

Yep.  I pay for 10Mbps broadband from Virgin over cable and I get around 9.8Mbps when I do a speed test.  I paid for 24Mbps in my old place from the ISP over BT's copper and got a maximum of 6.5Mbp thumbsup

Yes and Sky and BT dont offer cable, thats why Virgin is different

To be fair my mate was on virgins adsl service and he said he got shocking speeds. If you can get Virgin fibre optic where you live, just do it. Simple as that really! I cant advise on adsl providers because i've not used them and they are all generally inferior to Virgins cable service.

When we had our broadband via a phone line it was always the phone line that went wrong- not the broadband.

Also, I object to paying £125 fee just to get a BT line installed. Another reason why we went with Virgin in the new property.
