Ableton is awesome, it's all I use for my production, I know my way around cubase and logic but ableton is so much nicer to use and can get things down alot faster!

For vst's I would say get yourself a copy of sylenth and learn that as it sounds great and isn't a cpu hog if you are only using a laptop.thumbsup

i must be set in my ways/stupid, I much prefer the way Cubase works and cant see me getting on with Ableton for production dunce

nice one, i've got ableton live, but havent spent much time with it as i am unsure what program to try and start learning between ableton, cubase and reason.

i'll keep my eyes open in hope of seeing some tips from you and i'll trying learn the program too. i've got an akai mpc49 that came with ableton lite version too, but i'm not sure if i can get the best out of it with hard house? i need to have a play when i've got a bit of time.

agreed ! Nick Greek boy showed me Ableton when i was using Cubase and i'm full on with this at the minute, as said before, lets you get stuff done efficiently, it's all about drag and drop!! smile hopefully live 9 will bring dual screens as it will be all there!! the built in suite tools/instruments are immense!! each to their own tho smile
