Tobin is a genius, end of story. He was making 'dubstep' before the genre even existed.

ISAM is an amazing album, wish I could go see the live show

I was listening to it in 2008, well before the bandwagon even started. Me and two of my mates heard it and we liked it, then everyone else we knew followed the trend. I literally knew nobody else who listened to it at the time apart from the two mates I mentioned.

If anything it's just an absolutely immense piece of production! Can't get enough of this!

One of my personal favourite dubstep tracks, loved it since the first moment i heard it ages ago, its an incredible tune... As for people not liking dubstep etc, fair enough, there is some real shit out there, but then there is also a load of really crap hardhouse about too... Take what you will from things but above all else dont be totally negative to everything based on pigeon holed names of genres, it will help in your creativity if you are a bit more open to listening to things smile

I'll admit there are a few dubstep tunes that I've enjoyed, but not many that I can remember. Not sure what you would class the dubstep in this thread as but this is exactly the stuff I've never got on with. To me music should be based around melody, but the majority of dubstep just sounds really artificial/mechanical and as much as I appreciate the production of the tracks I just cant get any enjoyment out of them as there is no melody there whatsover.

There was a thread in the DJ/Studio forum a while back with some really nice melodic dubstep, the production was unreal. Now that I was impressed by, but this other stuff I just don't get frown
