O'REALLY?

Fluffy, uninspired and unimaginative could be said about that track.

Activa is one of the most if not the most prolific and underrated producer in the trance scene. HIM and Askew are seriously gifted.

Both nice sounding tunes. But I wish people would get it out of their heads that 'trance' means that fluffy arping synth sound.

Sorry I just like Trance with creative melodies instead of over 9000 tracks with the same pluck sound from Activa, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Tom Colontonio and even Askew himself. @darklight & GeneticJunk, seriously? No one is saying that Trance from 20 years ago wasn't Trance. Even paul van dyk is such a fucking twat about what "real trance" is lmfao

can you help me on this? ok I really like darkpsy but i can't find any mixes with speeds from 160-165bpm, i keep on getting 150 (which is too slow) or 170-220+ which is too fast....first world problems i know but id hate to start looking for individual tracks right now

ah, that be because psy genre nerds make stuff that fast slot into a different pigeon hole. look for psy-kore or psy-corethumbsup

innit - there's been a whole area overlapping hardtrance and nrg squeezed out of existence because of the above view, and i miss it frown

also - that area is really quite experimental (in that producers are going out on a limb as there aren't many events that would even alot one hour to this sound) so you're going to have to dig through any free tune archives you find. there is some about thoughthumbsup

All sounds the same to me nowdays.Do like the stuff with vocals the most.Use to be so original back in the day Ian Van Dahl and stuff.
Still some good stuff around that stands out i think, but certainly doesn't do it for me with the same gatecrashery leads on everything.

Still think Tiesta did some of the best i reckon.

Haha yeah nothing wrong with Tiesto, he used to be great years ago, was more laughing at the spelling on that one!  I'm not sure I would list Ian Van Dahl among the trance greats though, well unless we're going to include Sash and Lasgo etc. king

I went to see Gareth Emery's 6hr set at Warehouse Project in Manc (well i remember 2hrs of it) at the wknd and it made me realise i just dont like new trance, im too obsessed with the 96-2001 stuff and always will be.

Drank too much in the club anyway, got kicked out for been sick on my shoes and woke up on the floor oppisite the club with no phone and 100quid down. Im guessing i got sleep mugged, my arse is fine so i wasnt raped luckily.

Wasnt my kind of night, thing is if my mates are going i will go anywhere so i'll prob be back to other trance nights.

Lucky to be alive after this one though i think, i didnt know where our apartment was so i had to find a shop at 4am, buy a map and look for the shape of the road i rememebed we were on cause i didnt know the street name. Luckily i found a mate after 3hrs. Looking for a shape on a map of Manchester is harder than you think.

Good experiencethumbsup

Ill go with that. Ive kinda gone off the boil with hh atm, got back in to trance quite a bit. Loving Askew, o'callaghan and Simon Patterson. 2 tunes Im lovin atm are Paul oakenfolds Full moon party - seriously suprised by this tune and Askew  bastad - the vocal sample in this tune is ridiculous
