Most difficult console/arcade game you've played?

Ninja Gaiden 2 on xbox 360 was infuriatingly hard, even on the easiest difficulty. The last boss was a rite bastard. Think i only completed it once. Though now ive said that i feel like playing it. It is a fucking awesome game just stupidly hard!

Rampage.

Trails HD on the XBOX Extremely Hard Mode the levels are impossible but can't help trying and trying and trying and trying, trowing my controller on the floor, and trying again and repeat lol. Does me head in lol.

I thought 'driver' was kind of hard, i couldnt get past the first level

and 'sega rally' was hard, the handling.

 Easy man! You have to hit him with the reverse lightening bubbles. Tough but can be done 

 Digsustingly difficult game man, notoriously hard!!

Goes a bit faster arcade Bubble Bobble, lost months and years with this cute spastic game...even put the coins in so strangers would join in while others danced off with my belongings.

If you're talking about old school gameplay, probably one of Treasure or Cave's bullet hell shooters (Ikaruga etc) in their traditional arcade modes... Makes you realise how shit your reactions are.

I thought Ghosts and Goblins was harder than Gouls and Ghosts. Both superb though. Got to say the hardset game I have struggled with has to be Dark Souls. The new megamans and contra (i think) are pretty savage as well. I do love hard games though

Hardest games I found were Manic Miner and Jet Set Willy. Also, Mario the Lost Levels were bloody difficult.

Beating Ivan Drago in Rocky on the Sega Master System was a CUNT and I don't think I ever did it (even when I'd perfected the 'rubbing-the-control-pad-on-your-knee-to-speed-up-the-button-presses' technique).  It still rankles me to this day

I was a proper pro at arcade games, cant remember any that I liked that i didnt complete.

I was particularly good at Salamander, nemesis, scramble, ghosts & goblins, manic miner (and all the sequels), black tiger (fucking epic game), galaga, pacman etc

Never really got into early console gaming, was more into the computers.

I was best at 1942, could play that forever, had a mate who was equally good, and we could play two player all night of 10p, we had one in our local pub, and people used to pay for us to play so they could stand and watch lol.

I am best at a game called Bomb Jack. I used to play it in the pub when I was about 4. People used to give me 10p to watch me play as I was so good, haha! I absolutely love that game and still play it on my arcade cabinet

the only reason the games mentioned were hard is because the controls were so shoddy,too sensitive or not sensitive enough.
