Cheap Long Distance Train Tickets???

Anyone know of any sites???

How far do you class as far? just the uk or do you want to travel to other countries? if the uk use www.megatrain.com cheap as fuck they also have a bus service www.megabus.com

how the fuck do you book with megatrain?, everytime i try it just comes up as buses

No such thing as a cheap train ticket anywhere these days!!

Its all about booking early, were going to London from Carlisle for 20quid one way in April, the next day the tickets were 100quid and will keep going up. Its shocking to be fair.

Shocking isnt it, its 60quid just to get from where i live to Leeds. But if you book 3 or 4 months early you get them dirt cheap. Last min trains are a piss take.

Bus is around 7hrs for us to London though, its 3hrs on the train.

Will cost £5 one way (Cardiff to manchester interchange), You will need to change trains at manchester interchange to get to manchester airport though, The change train shouldn't be much, a quid or 2 maybe?

ive used train line in advance and got really cheap tickets

I used to use train line, But never found prices as cheap as megatrain, Only prob with mega train is they only do some stations, Not all uk stations so you have to go to the nearest one and then get another train to your destination, Unless your destination is one of the major uk stations lol

not when you add parking fees to the bill lol... manchester airport parking fees for a few weeks would more then mess that up ... Cant see how £10 train fare is more expensive then driving.

Megatrain is only useful if you want to travel at obscure times during the week. They never have anything for a Friday evening or a Sunday which makes it useless for weekend trips.

I've only ever used it on fridays, Saturdays and sundays, It was 3 years ago now though so maybe they've changed? On saturday I went on train, sheffield to London st pancras to pick mrs up from heathrow, Then on the sunday we got bus back from victoria station (Think that was its name). Cost me £20 in total for me, Spot on.
