Cheap Long Distance Train Tickets???

not when you add parking fees to the bill lol... manchester airport parking fees for a few weeks would more then mess that up ... Cant see how £10 train fare is more expensive then driving.

If u can get £10 train fare from cardiff to manchester go for it but thats sounds oddly cheap. I pay £21 to get to London from just outside London.


I just went on the website and entered a random date and it gave me £5 one way laughing

Megatrain is only useful if you want to travel at obscure times during the week. They never have anything for a Friday evening or a Sunday which makes it useless for weekend trips.


I'm a big advocate of the National Express coaches. I got a Friday- Sunday return to Cardiff from London for £12.
Takes a bit longer but it saved me over £60. They have a wide choice of departure times as well.
I used to get returns to Sheffield for less than a tenner when I was going visit Tim before he moved down. The train would have been over £80 eeek

I've only ever used it on fridays, Saturdays and sundays, It was 3 years ago now though so maybe they've changed? On saturday I went on train, sheffield to London st pancras to pick mrs up from heathrow, Then on the sunday we got bus back from victoria station (Think that was its name). Cost me £20 in total for me, Spot on.

Will cost £5 one way (Cardiff to manchester interchange), You will need to change trains at manchester interchange to get to manchester airport though, The change train shouldn't be much, a quid or 2 maybe?

Where the fuck from???  Cheapest I can find is £61

Out of luck on that date, They only have buses, Cheapest price to get to london on their bus is £1 there and £1 back, So £2 return. Aint bad if you don't mind a bit longer travel ! About 3.5 hrs travel each way
