Just a remnant from the days when the King / Queen still had power.

The House of Commons (elected politicians) put forward a bill (draft law) which then gets voted on, for or against.

If it gets enough votes then its sent to the House of Lords (unelected 'peers', basically upper-class rich families, although 'commoners' can become lords, usually ex-politicians) and they vote on it again.

Basically if the Lords voted against it it got sent back down to the House of Commons to be changed / re-debated, however the last Labour government changed the law so if it gets sent back down to the House of Commons twice then they can overrule the House of Lords and bring it into law anyway, basically making the House of Lords redundant.

Yeah it doesn't need explaining, your right....

House of commons vote something in andhouse of lords can overwrite it, house of lords vote something in and the royal family can overwrite it with request from the PM's or current power.... even though the Queen can dismiss parlament any way, the whole system is bollox, just a scam to make the public actually believe their say counts.... when parlament mug us off, and big banks mug parlament off.

Banks > Big wig families > Corp. >  Government > Police > Armed Forces > Tax slaves.... or something like that

England looks after its people, there is nobody starving on the streets here like in America, our government will provide you with everything you need, and then some. But unfortunately this system breeds a plethora of lazy, incompetent fucks who manipulate, take advantage of, and abuse the very system that has been utilised for the genuine poor who simply cannot find work. And guess who has to suffer as a consequence? That's right, the people that do actually fucking work.

It's not another problem altogether at all. What you get is dictated...forget it actually, no one understands the economics of the globe outside of the given view, I'd be wasting my time and I can't be arsed arguing it. Sorry for even mentioning it now, I will say this though..not a penny of our taxes go to the unemployed, that's a gross misunderstanding of our economic system. There is a reason why they 'SIGN-ON' every week or whatever it is. Signatures CREATE funds. WE are the creditors for everything our governing reps do, the trick us into believing we are debtors and we take it hook line and sinker. Oh god it makes me angry!

it doesn't really apply in your current situation Danny. it's only going to be payments like that for large families that need large houses. i agree with anyone that's saying there needs to be less incentive for dossers to procreate whilst never having any intention of supporting them without help but people seem to be spouting off about this issue as if it relates to single people  and couples getting that kind of payout for housing. that's simply not the case.

LOL - i went to mexico at the end of last year and the resort had lots of well to do americans. i talked to a few of them who were up in arms about welfare. it's funny that for all that the media tries to portray big differences between the US and the UK with ref to level of socialism, welfare etc, THEY WERE CITING THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO AS WE ALL COMPLAIN ABOUT  - even down to the proportion of people on the dole, wage to welfare comparisons, long term doleys and sick. THAT was an eye opener in media manipulation and creation of outrage laughing

Do you know that when you buy a house and sign for it that signature creates the funds to pay for it, then the bankers tell you to repay the mortgage pluss the interest, yes, they recieve about 3 times the value and have people tied up in 25 year mortgages absolutely needlesly. Perhaps that will be enough for a few people to go and do thier own research on this. Heres a couple names to google/Utube: Winston Shrout, Brandon Adams. Follow the line.

How does the signature create it? I know the money is virtual, but it still needs to be balanced (although the interest doesnt).

What happens if you default on the mortgage? Then the banks have to pay it back - this is how this whole fucking economic downturn started, they had created all this virtual money, and then too many people didnt pay it back, so the banks had to dip into their own pockets to pay it back.

It's a large sum of money and most people cannot pay that amount back within a two or three year period like some loans. The balance is having to agree a larger percentage payment for a longer loan period or forgo. Supply and demand really dictates a lot of things.

It will always be the argument between the people rather than Vs the government. If A goes to work to support themselves and B doesn't work and has the same lifestyle then there will always be conflict.

Isn't a lot of it due to rents in London anyway?  While working people struggle to get somewhere near where they work; people on benefits get ever increasing housing benefit so they can remain in their area and landlords can make a nice amount of money out of it.  It's not really fair and justifiable

thumbsup the level of payout is found in london and pricey neighbourhoods and is attached to large families so these payouts aren't representative per se. i don't think the onus should be on keeping said families on their estates if the high costs are simply down to being in desirable neighbourhoods though. claimants, especially if they are long term, should be prepared to move to cheaper areas if housing is available, simply because (wherever the money is coming from) the higher payments aren't sustainable realistically.

Are you sure that a housing estate, in say SW1, differs for the same in outer London? I'm not sure that's right. Situations where a House has to be rented perhaps but, council estate housing surely is balanced.

Perhaps I did and didnt.thumbsup I guess what I mean is that the media is making a meal out of it and that is what is raising the resentment as the focus is being put on that aspect, demonising all benefit takers. I know people on the dole that would give thier right arm to find a job, its hardly their fault that the gov gives them what they do(its still only 50ish quid a week for an adult tho isnt it?) and as has been said already most of that figure goes on rent (private renting) and council tax, what they get in their pocket is not equal to a wage by any means and many people go back into work knowing that the wage they will earn will only make them a few quid a week better off. The burden of the blame still lies with the system more than the people that are entrapped by it. I do know the type that is being refered to btw, I know many of them myself, lazy arses that have never truly looked for a way out and just gleen of the state.

its private rented houses so some cunt with 5 kids has to have a big house which are almost always in desirable areas which means the rent is say £1000 a week payed for by me and you, now people are fucked off because to afford that you need to be a doctor, but this country seems to think we owe people a living or that people have the right to live in certain areas, which is not fair is it?
so all these folk who are now moaning because housing wont pay more than £400 a week (which is still a fucking lot) can get fucked and move to somewhere more affordable just like 90% of the rest of the UK
which is why i dont pay much tax is pisses me off, and novis chav can bring bankers and the corporations and anything else which has fuck all to do with this to try and bamboozle us, but iv seen it all before on other forums, "blame the system" well ye i do but its getting fixed so now everyone who i think live on another planet or are part of the problem are up in arms about human rights.

Are you sure that a housing estate, in say SW1, differs for the same in outer London? I'm not sure that's right. Situations where a House has to be rented perhaps but, council estate housing surely is balanced.

its private rented houses so some cunt with 5 kids has to have a big house which are almost always in desirable areas which means the rent is say £1000 a week payed for by me and you, now people are fucked off because to afford that you need to be a doctor, but this country seems to think we owe people a living or that people have the right to live in certain areas, which is not fair is it?
so all these folk who are now moaning because housing wont pay more than £400 a week (which is still a fucking lot) can get fucked and move to somewhere more affordable just like 90% of the rest of the UK
which is why i dont pay much tax is pisses me off, and novis chav can bring bankers and the corporations and anything else which has fuck all to do with this to try and bamboozle us, but iv seen it all before on other forums, "blame the system" well ye i do but its getting fixed so now everyone who i think live on another planet or are part of the problem are up in arms about human rights.
people should learn to take responsibility

Has nothing to do with it?yawn On other forums? Is that where you live?uhoh
