Your School Bus

Was talking to my daughter earlier about her bus and it seems that things are still pretty much the same as they were when i went to school. The older/harder you are the further to the back of the bus you can sit in a kind of heirachy and the bus 'heads' were the only ones allowed on the back seat.

Our bus was pretty notorious in the school and most days in assembly would be mentioned what had happened each day  i.e. throwing shit out of windows at people/cars (loads of ppl got a 5 hour detention for, myself inc.), massive ink fights using the ink cartridges covering the bus floor to sealing, fights etc and the once being driven to the police station for racial abuse. Had a regular driver who was a big old black guy, but was a right moody prick and had a big row with the head kid on our bus and got him by the throat one morning. After that on route to school the whole bus were singing 'YOU BLACK BABOON' the whole journey so he took us straight down the nick.

Anyone elses school bus like that, with the back seat thing?

First year of high school I used to walk to another school where my little bro used to go, so missed the first year. Second year though when I went on the bus I noticed there was a definite hiarchy. My friends were too intimidated to sit with the older kids at the back. What I did was make my way to the back everyday and kepy getting kicked out by the older wankers. Found the buttons on some of the loudest ones and wound them up until a fight broke out and when the dust settled I was sitting at the back with them haha...

We never had a school bus. But on school trips the hierarchy was definitely there. I used to sit fairly near the back anyway as all the "cool hard" kids were in my form n i got on really well with them. Though in the last couple of years i got promoted after some prick shoved me into my locker, so i smashed his face into it, n tried to throw some prat who had been bullying me for 3 years down a flight of stairs. 

I remember this one, odd kid was blagged into eating a tin of dog food for a quid.

Did you used to have wars/fights with nearby school for no particular reason? I remember there was one notorious school that no one messed with, Nine Styles, anyone from that school must've been well hard.

I used to sit somewhere near the middle, and lick the window.

No wonder he was miserable and moody- what a horrible job having to cart you all you little bastards around each day!

I lived near my school so walked each day.
I come from a pretty small town so there was two of each level of school- primary, middle and upper.
The two schools in each level rivalled with each other though but it never got too bad- the odd fight and slanging match. We always had to play each other at team sports cos there was no one else to play against!
I'm from the Country. I think kids on the whole are better behaved than the kids in the city.

There was always talk of organising a ruck with the local schools, but they never actually happened

we had a couple of double deckers, the older type with high seats at the back, two facing each other and a long bench at the back. known as "the pit" i ended up in there a few times and got a kicking then when i was older kicked the yuongsters lol. then we upgraded to modern buses with tape players, i brought in the annual II which got played every morning on the way to school and every one loved it, i was for a brief moment in time mr music. then i slipped the driver doggystyle, it lasted about 20sec, he pulled it out and chucked it out the window, (the tape).

I had to get the bus in my 1st year of secondary school (before moved schools).

Always a laugh lobbing apples/sandwiches n shit at people on way home.

we got a kid to eat the blue things out of the urinals for a fag, he did it but no-one gave him a fag lol.

Ours was Grafitti Tags on the back of buses, in big fuckoff popmate markers. Toys used shoe whitener with the spongy applicator.

i used to sit at the back, i was a cool kid by default due to having a harder older brother a few years above, we had a double decker and all sat at the back at the top, smoking spliffs at 8am lol

I remember playing Cypress Hill during rehearsals for the School Play.  Definite cool points earned for that.  Also hijacking the stereo at end of Year 5 (this was the 90s) party and playing Spicelab's Spirit of Fear. 

 

Our school bus was nothing special.  One slightly pervy driver and one driver known as "Bob Bastard Sides".

I emptied an entire tub of purple powder paint onto my little sister on the bus on the way home on the last day of school one year.  We were leaving to go to Center Parcs on holiday the very same day.  She had purple on her for days.  She still brings it up even now, 16yrs later

Dont remember a hierarchy as such to be honest. But our buses were pretty bad, people spitting at passers by etc etc. Just generally out of control in every sense.

We used to have a double decker, first couple of years, if you were hard/cool you could sit at the back downstairs and last few years upstairs... sitting in the corner at the back downstairs was always potentially dangerous as we'd have random bundles squashing whoever was at the end

 

Used to have regular food fights, that would get silly out of hand over time, until people were bringing in yogurts, eggs etc just for the food fight... was generally at least one proper fight a week, I've seen one of the upstairs windows pushed out where the lad was thrown against it so hard, and a kid get chucked down the stairs, got so out of hand we used to have a seperate member of staff on board to try and control everyone, but they were generally too scared the whole bus would turn on them, so was pointless really.

 

Often had the bus turned round and taken back to school, main one I remember was kids throwing batteries out the windows at other cars!! That and general vandalism of the bus, seats ripped out... thinking back it was just a bus full of animals really, but you didn't think anything of it at the time, as everyday was like that...

 

Haha, and we didn't just smoke cigs at the back up the top, my mate used to bring his bong in everyday... and everyday we'd end up having to use orange squash, cos no one ever brought a bottle of water in

 

Funny memories, but I'd be ashamed if I could see myself now if I'm honest

non- school bus related but just remembered about a kid in my class who burned all of this girls hair off with a bunsen burner. needless to say he got expelled, alot lol

I remember once in school I ate a full ten bag of weed thinking it would get me smashed, I did this because I couldn't be arsed rolling it, as at the time I couldn't roll that well and it would have took the piss. It had a placebo effect for about 15 minutes and then I realised that I had just wasted a tenner. The first 15 minutes were funny I guess, although my breath stunk of weed all day. A lad I knew came up to me afterwards and he said "Why did you eat it? It was nice weed that you would have got fucked" I was just like "fuck knows to be honest mate" 

we got busted buy the headmaster smoking weed once, funny thing was he called my dad and my dad said 'yeah its cool, i let him smike weed in the house as id rather that that smoke it on the streets'. the headmaster didnt really have much to say after that lol

Yeah there was a hierarchy on my bus but for some reason, despite being the smallest kid in the entire school until year 9 and proper shy, I was always called to the back of the bus by the older kids - and protected by them. I was quite lucky I guess actually.

I'll never forget the day that my mate got a razor blade and sliced every seat on the bus and we had a foam fight with insides of the seats. The bus was destroyed and everyone was kicked off miles from home. Funny at the time but the bus driver had tears in his eyes which is pretty sad looking back.

Yeah I've seen teachers in tears off people winding them up, quite a few times, pretty shit really.

our school bus stopped running after most of us got banned from it, we used to rock it while it was parked up, then one day we tried while it was moving nearly toppled it with that and usual shit like setting fires on the walkway we were all pulled into assemble and shown video footage of the bus with us rocking it and that shouting "kill the driver" ended up getting banned from mainline (the whole company for sheff) we got another bus and some of the older guys i knew hung a kid out of the back top fire escape by his feet threw my town, well that was the end of catching busses home for us lot
