Beer festivals

Anyone know any good BIG outdoor beer festivals? I've never been to one so me and about 20 others are going to go to one this summer, Anyone got any recommedations? Doesn't matter where in the UK it is, But it needs to be in the UK. I'm not into cider or poncey rank drinks like that, Just real ALE so fuck off cider drinking ideas. haha laughing

check the CAMRA website - best (and only) resource i can think of for finding beer fezzies. you might be hard pushed to find one outdoors though. they might have a couple of bands on but they're not exactly music fezzies

Glastonwick near us is always a laugh http://www.cask-ale.co.uk/beerfestival.html - (bloody shocking website!)

Its on a farm a bit out from station but they have a free bus running and you can camp there. Last year had about 80 beers and 20 ciders (and even a couple of lagers looking ) and quite a few bands, including CARTER but didn't pay any attention to them. laughing

Wouldn't say its BIG but big enough.

I cant camp as i need to keep meds cold so i need electric. What the hotel prices like around you?

We have an outdoor beer festival right on the edge of the river Wye every year, absolutely brilliant. Such a good laugh especially when the weather is perfect.

It's normally around August kind of time. I wouldn't class it as BIG though

Yeah i've been looking around and the fests are all at the same time... 1st week of august, Which sucks a bit as you can't go to more then one.

No idea mate as I live there biggrin I'd guess far better than Brighton prices tho. This place is right next to station: http://www.shorehambysea.com/the-crabtree-inn-guesthouse.html its a shit pub (family-oriented chain) with shit food but can't be expensive. There's about 8 other pubs within 5mins walking distance inc. a Dark Star pub (where we go) and loads of places to eat.

That said, its on a farm and there's loads of leccy and they're all really friendly so I'd imagine they'd be happy to store meds for you if you asked in advance?

Cant say in the UK but we went on a trip to a big indoor one in Belgium with my local some years ago, was fantastic, it was all that RumPaPa RumPaPa yodley stuff with massive tankards and funny costumes. Christ we drank some beer that weekend. laughing

They gave us all that when we got there but it was those ridiculously big costumes, I felt like a right twonk in it, was all ripped off a few tankards into it. laughing

Ive been and it great. The only downside is that. chuck out time is around 11. The atmosphere in and around the tents is amazing though. Lowenbrau is ace from the tap too. love
