Watching them back to back but, never felt it was that great a film. Anyone else thought the same? The garden scene in Vol 1 is excellent however. Just something about it that doesn't work for me.

Kill Bill 3 seems to be approved.

The lack of an epic sword fight at the end of number 2 was a massive let down for me. A couple of my mates also claim that Uma Thurman just didnt pull the character off at all

I loved both of them, and I'm STILL waiting patiently for them to release the whole bloody affair on Bluray so I can watch them back to back the way they were intended...

A sequel doesn't seem at all necessary though... Would much rather have Tarantino try something new

Both great tbh.The fight scene at the end of the first one in Japan or wherever is one of the best ones i've ever seen.

2nd one delivered well too.Forgot about them,2 of my fav films i think tbh.

3rd out madtongue Can't wait, although wonder where they'll go after ending to 2.Probably back even further or something.

they were alright. the first set up for a wicked finale but the second didn't quite deliver - and yeah, uma thurman was like slightly flexible wood

I sort of know what you mean, although it's like the mexican standoff at the end of The Good the bad and the ugly which is more about tension. That's what I felt, she was right for PF but not for this.

Guessing 3 may be about the young girl coming for revenge with Darryl Hannah.

the first is soooooooooooooooo ripped off from 1948 by james herbert

edit: aint seen the sequel but there's only so much you can get going with a zombie and epidemic film. zombieland was ok but i feel even the comedy zombie thing has been pretty much covered.thumbsdown

Have to disagree,as tbh i am a zombie film fan,and have seen quite a lot of different ways its done.

Resident Evil to me is best in the genre.
Dawn Of The Dead was good too.
Sean was different and funny.

Seen some crap ones aswell, namely George or something, where this woman falls for a zombie and lives with them eyesup.

Each to there own and all that i guess thumbsup

But they're not Zombies. It's meant to be an anti aggression drug that was being tested that actually caused uncontrollable aggression laughing

yeah, me too. and i think you're on about FIDOthumbsup

seen 'em and got bored - although the good films are good

Jay - i see what you're saying but it's still a variant on the zombie, modified as the concept of a zombie has become less and less scientifically viable/credible (in eyes of the public - guess it never was really lol)

and resident evil, although entertaining is not the best in the genre by a long shot (IMO of course). night of the living dead was ace. zombies are best used when illustrating other points like the race aspect in that film and the consumerism in the follow up.

agreed, if a little comedic laughing

i guess you might know this - is that set of films the official follow up to NIGHT....? i know the writer of that split from romero on the sequels.

It's definitely more plausible than the dead suddenly rising laughing I quite liked the idea behind it, just an experiment gone completely wrong which is what most zombie films hint at as an explanation.

Oh yeah it's definitely the comedy angle with that, it's a great film. You can see the influences in films like Planet Terror.

What the "Return of" do you mean? No I'm pretty sure it's just another bunch of films than being connected.

Agreed with Night of (racial aspect) and also Dawn of the dead original thumbsup

i can't remember where i was reading it but night of the living dead was based on a novel which had sequels. romereo wanted to different things with his sequels which led to a fallout with the author (who confusingly had film adaptations lined up too). it was settled in court with one party being allowed to use "living dead' and the other just 'dead'.

You're probably right. Don't see them being connected, only as another zombie flick.

I've expanded the thread title too laughing

loosest linkage ever - just watched THE WOMAN. it's a great horror film that manages to not be as cliched as most. it's even quite intelligent. i've seen a lot of horror films and didn't see the ending that happened coming.
