star wars 3D

so there re-releasing all the films in 3d, episode 1 this week. i'm going to watch it with a few mates, a few are hardcore starwars geeks. i like it but not as much as them. anyways i think if any film should be good in 3d it'll be these. plus a cinema environment with full on surround sound and massive screen should be awesome.

13 years ago I fell asleep in the cinema while watching the interminably boring Star Wars Episode 1 for the first time.

Have to agree. Why does Lucas seem to bolt on overly obvious effects and extras when really the originals still stand up. Star Wars 4 had a load of crap added, also what's with adding in a "bonk" noise to the stormtrooper who bangs his head? The new ending of ROTJ was fucking dreadful too.

He was indeed a cock. There was Phantom menace v1.1 doing the rounds on't net that hasd deleted him from all non-critical scenes (IE most of them). Was sooo much better

Unfortunately, watching them in that order takes away the impact of a revealing factor later on. You'll know already but, it was a massive key element first time watching. One of the reasons why it would never be taken as well with newer viewers.  

I was grand until I arrived home yesterday and was told that annikan is darth vadar and he has a son called luke, sure I've heard both name from the other films.

Im loving 3D since I got my head mounted display so bring it on I say. I hope they are getting blu ray 3D releases at some point?

I'm looking forward too seeing this. It'll be the first film I've seen in 3d so should good. If not it won't matter coz I'm a BIG starwars fan anyway. And yeah Empire Strike's Back is the best one

TBF, the ONLY film in 3D that was visually any good whatsoever (IMO) was Avatar.  Every other 3D film I've ever seen has been shockingly bad; the 3D element has obviously been tacked on as an after thought

In saying that, I may go and see episodes 4-6 in 3D.  Fuck episodes 1-3; in the ear. They were fucking atrocious

Yeah Avatar is good. I see what you are  saying about 3D but I watch films in 3D at home now if possible. It does add a different feel to it. To be honest though, im not a big fan of 3D with glasses as it dims your view or flickers a bit. You can't beat two seperate 720p OLED screens

The worst one was Alice in Wonderland.  The 3D bit was sooooo shit; it just made my eyes hurt after half an hour

I watched monsters vs aliens recently and thought that was pretty cool in 3D. They didn't over do the effects but it was nice to have a bit of depth to it

Episode 1 is an incredibly shit and boring film, 3D won't make it any less so. Episode 2 is also one of the worst films I've ever seen, from a story-telling, acting, CGI, dialogue point of view. I'm a HUGE SW fan btw, but anyone can see these films are fucking terrible.

well i enjoyed it, wasn't amazing but for me it was good as i've never seen episode 1 in a cinema before, so the pd racing with the surround sound big screen, 3d etc was brilliant. it was very subtle 3d, the trailer for ice age 4 looked immense mind.

saw it today, thought it was the dogs bollocks watching it at the cinema, especially the final battle
