In reply toCute
presentation but you're still wrong...you think i'm stupid for walking.
This dealer thought he had me by the balls because the car is hard to
get. The red one is a back-up and I like it...also gives me
leverage in negotiation. You see when I net one dealer against
another...the customer is no longer the victim...instead the dealer
becomes the victim. Salespeople live in a ruthless
world of competition and I can assure you that in auto sales it is as
cut-throat as it gets

I only think you're stupid for walking IF you can not get another black
one (since you implied that it's a possibility by stating it's the last
week for ordering them) and thus be forced to settle for the red.
Which, I guess is fine at the end of the day since you like the red. To
be honest, I'd also have told him to fuck off for the same reasons you
did, but I would've thought twice about going somewhere else if I
couldn't get another black one (if that was what I really wanted). Not
that hard to comprehend Nick.
And regarding sale people, I know all about them. My dad used to work
in the auto industery (high end tar & dirt racing stuff) and I
worked in sales as well for a while (managing a sports store and later
as a rep). I've been on the recieving end and obviously dishing it out,
playing their game, if & when I was an unsatisfied customer.
