Obviously, if it's being pressed as a release, there had to be somone that thought it was worth pressing... looking

Good point Rog. They're the only label who regularly release stuff on 2 disks. There was even the 3 disk release of Lets Rock!

I've got nothing against Tidy really.  I have a few of their releases and am not ashamed lol!  But  I'm no fan either.  Yeah, they rake it in, but the flipside is that they are helping to keep the industry alive.  I do find tho, that their more recent releases are mostly dull.  Formulaic trance, with nothing that jumps up and bites!

I would just like 2 know why some the people on this forum bag tidy? And please give honest anwsers, for example dont just say " cos tidy suck".

Cos Tidy suck! laughinglaughinglaughing

Tidy arent too bad..

Music wise they are too 'bigroom' for me, but thats me!

i cant trust the label TBO.. some releases are very average and lack any actual feeling or energy... short circuit, RAW, Kaktai.. these labels dont release everything that goes through the studio... only the tracks they feel will make it, and they are doing fucking well!

tidy seem to release just about anything... shame! waste of black plastic and studio equipment laughing

I think a lot has to do with defining of styles. Allow me to explain ... In the past there used to be 'HardHouse' which included nastier tracks as well as trancier or funkier tracks .. Now there's a lot more definition to genre/style names and some are more popular than others. Most of us that congregate here prefer the nastier edge (NRG) hence the general dislike in Tidy's more uplifting vibes (Which answers your original question MOSSY).

It doesn't make it bad, although it has to be said they've releases some right shit. But then, so has every big label. As it stands at the moment, I think you'll see less people make derogative comments towards Tidy than in the past because they've been releasing better material of late, but there's still a great number of people that believe Tidy is a money grabbing organisation. As Cat says, Tidy keeps on putting money back into the scene though .. and it helps keeping the entire scene afloat to some extent, which is good regardless of your personal opinion on their music or motives.

Simply cos their music is just not what I think is really worthy of being released and as others have said they are very profit orientated. I don't think the tunes they bring out are very good. The recent Bulletproof remix of 'I don't Care was absolutely attrocious. It was so poor it just wasn't funny. They have had some great tunes but I struggle to remember what the last decent one was. The put on good events though. Tidy Weekenders are great fun.

I have nothing against Tidy - they've released some excellent tunes over the years, and I own quite a few of them. They're not the only label that's ever released two disks, far from it. At the end of the day, the label's got nothing to do with it - if it's good, it's good!

And as to being profit-driven - of course they are, it's a business they're running. That's generally the idea.

Colin Barratt and Ingo have done some really good stuff on the tidy label recently. Producers like these are doing their bit to move the music forward. I wouldnt not buy their releases simply because there on tidy. If they are releasing good music then well done to them. I personally havent got a problem with them.

But then again.... your not gonna define yourself as a dj by playing the latest tidy release eyesup
