I know u guys have seen pics of my setup, How about a pic of yours?

No matter how big or small, complicated or simple, you can tell a lot from a pic and even assist with some advice and help!

My problem is the narrow room and rear sloping roof (im up in the eves!) - anti-bass traps are needed together with an eq'd room!

I am still trying to shift the lot, but may just keep and re-arrange it for software priority?

Im even looking into uploading some samples of this kit before letting it go!

When i bother to turn it on again (been over six months now!) biggrin

Why dont you offer your skills as an engineer Si? Theres plenty of people on here into the sound of old, and I reckon a few people wouldnt mind getting into the studio with you, your probably a very busy man but it might be summat to consider for the future, it seems a shame to get rid of all that equipment, or for it to be just sat there doing nothing, it would make you a little bit of dosh too, as well as get your name back out there (as well as whoever your engineering for)thumbsup

Nice idea mate thumbsup

But not only am i out in the sticks, im a crap teacher too! looking

When i first setup studio with Tony i had to hire the studio out for nearly two years and it was a nightmare! I hated it! Its ok when its a free session but when people have to pay for the service they become total wankers....well, most of the customers i had were anyway biggrin

One reason why i thought it might sell, and that was to a new project or person who wants hardware as well as softsynths.

I dont need the hardware as i can right just as good with software...its just my attitude at the moment towards the scene thats putting me off producing.

Now, all i need to raise is £2500.00, so if someone came along and purchased certain items valued to this amount i would take it biggrin

Anything left over would be setup for show or sold individually.

U GOT A VIRUS SI?

I have, just the A and the Rack.

I just got offered £2.4K for the studio! fuckin cheek!!

This was from a shop though. I even put together a list of all the items within an Excel sheet setting low prices for each piece of kit and it still come to over £4K!!

If someone offered £4K for the lot i would sell, but i would keep certain items (PC, Large desk (if not needed), Soundcard and Cubase VST5 Dongle), the prices on all the other kit is still over £4K so well worth it!

I only need to raise £2.5K so would probably split the gear further biggrin

Si,  what are the advantages of having your monitors set on the side with the tweeters inside like you have them???  I see lots of people do it so there must be a reason...... care to enlighten mebiggrinwinkthumbsupthumbsup

No advantages, maybe less to be fair. There may not be as much definition when trying to monitor stereo spread etc. Going by Si's pictures tho it looks like there's not enough room to have them standing upright, so it's a compromise over space I'd guess.

Some speakers do look nicer on their sides & that's usually the reason why people do it, that's why Yamaha made the NS10M's because everyone kept putting the original NS10's on their sides.

biggrin Yep, ya right!

I only found out recently that puting them on the side actually compromises the sound, i thought it was better due to someone once telling me that when they are on their side you need the bass driver tilted closer to you because the tweeter has a faster wavelength and would get to your ears faster. But, beaing so close to your ears, i dont really think there would be much diffeence anyway.

And ye, it was due to space restrictions i had to put them on their side. biggrin

well here's a much less impressive one, so many things wrong with this setup!  still on the lookout for a desk that'll fit everything on *and* fit in the space available!  up until a few weeks ago i had 3 screens on the desk (two 21s and a 17) and the right-hand speaker was on a stand but this meant i couldn't close the stairs door and there were some VERY odd bass chamber effects going on in the upstairs bedroom!

well, i don't have much of anything set up here in london...really went minimal when i left canada and I quite miss all my gear frown   Here's what it looked like in kingston before i left... 100% software so nothing impressive to look at except for the mess, which I hereby submit for the most-disorganised-workspace-in-the-developed-world award yawn

thumbsup looks like my first bedroom setup (I obviously had old gear then - 1990!)....this is how i like it....all crammed together in easy reach! biggrin

I now want a setup similar with LCD screens, smaller desk, powerful PC with powercore!.

If i can just get rid of the old setup i can start a fresh biggrin

...by the way! love the speak-and-spell on the wall! Awsome! thumbsup

Nice my 1st desk was an alesis 1622, bloody hopeless thing, i used to have more kit but i'm much more productive with this compact setup, having everything to hand really is sweet
