I thought that to a couple of years ago... but after a 2 year break I came back making better music then ever.  Do yourself a favor, look at the things/people in your life that keep you out of the studio...  people and situations change.  When/if your focus changes you might end up right back in the studio.

laughingthumbsup ye! too true!

The pub & getting the bills paid keep me out of the studio at the mo!

I think its because im now so insecure that i worry too much to settle or lock myself away in the studio so i keep the gear passion going instead by rewiring the studio and updating the gear etc...

I DO know i need to produce... and i now at least have a deadline again which always used to get me off my ass as i have a purpose and goal to go for!

funny you should mention about being insecure about making tunes... i was pretty much in the same boat from 2002 - 2004... but after hunkering down and doing it just to do it. I ended up cranking out tracks.. not all of them good. but it got me back into the mindset to make tracks again.... and now with stuff like Serato and/or Traktor it's possible to test a track long before you'd send it to press or anything.

whatever you do, don't sell your gear... atleast give yourself 2 or 3 years. you won't make $$$ when you do go to sell.. but if you make it back into the studio.. you'll be glad to have gear you know and can crank a tune out quickly on.

Ye, very tidy mate!

Looks well smart!

I was gonna say the same with regards the bass trap... but i suppose when space is tight!

Took me a year to get the right sound from my speakers and get a flat sound so when i play it on other speakers it sounds the same.

I prob also would have put the keyboard where the MIDI keyboard is and visa versa so that you can play the keyboard sitting down as i would get arm ache playing with the keyboard like that.

Erganomics is how i always layout a studio... I love everything to hand that can be tweaked laughing

still love them monitors though! Mine have shitty bezels that get in the way!! frown but for under £100 for two 19" widescreens i cant really complain!! rolleyes

I do love the glass top too!! love

Cheers Si.

Yeah i did think about the position of the keyboard/midi controller but i came to the conclusion that i use my keyboard a lot more than i do my controller so that had to be the one on the shelf laughing

My next house will have more room to plan these kind of things biggrin
