a Cure?
Well, it seems to work!
I have two interfaces hooked up to the PC via USB -
Edirol audio Capture UA-20
Evolutiuon MK-461C USB Midi Keyboard/controller
My Main PCI Sound Card is a Steinberg 2496 running RME drivers and Connected Purely via ADAT optical to my Yamaha O3D Desk.
Im running Windows XP Pro SP2 with Cubase SX 3.11.
I have the Net connected by LAN and run norton Systemworks 2005 - all get disabled when working in Audio!
PROBLEM:
No latency in Audio or MIDI when playing from the USB Keyboard....but when put into record the notes, when playing back are nearly a few beats out!?
This isnt a playback Latency but more of a delayed placement of the actual notes?
I have searched and search the net for answers with many having this problem but none with a cure.......until one,
Setting cubase as 'USE SYSTEM TIME STAMP' within the MIDI setup (Devices Menu) seams to have cured it?
The answer was on another forum in the form as:
Hmm.. had a friend with this problem, they used SX with an STAudio
DSP2000. Apparently, there's a fix in SX 2.2 that allows you to "USE
SYSTEM TIMESTAMP" which might fix the problem (apparently *some* midi
drivers expose a timing problem with SXs own midi timestamp) - I use a
DSP2000 myself and have never had this problem so I don't know why my
friend is - still it might help you.
So it seems to be a driver problem? and a USB driver problem at that?
anyone else had this problem?
