yes Alex... in waht way exactly is he fleecing people?!? He makes something, he knows it will sell, so he makes some more and sells them at price. They run out buit its obvious that more will sell, so he makes more. This is called "good business strategy".... or in thick-fuckers terms(for you) "Supply and demand". karim has done a few different remixes of this track, so its prob just the ones hes got left of the latest remix?? plus £30 is for a one of press isnt it? so its gonna cost a little for time and effort.

If i was an artist earning millions, and i painted the next masterpiece or something that i deemed was really good, do u think id sell it cheap to do favours to people i didnt even know?! would i fuck, and neither would you. You would make as much as you could out of it as another chance might not come along. Same with Nike....shall they start giving away free airmaxes? or aston martin giving away free cars as they earn enough?! of course not u tit!

If the price is what pisses you off then surely its the people that have bought it that you should be pissed off at? as if no one bought it the price would have to come down, but as people have bought it then surely there is a demand for them?! Karim is just supplying what the people want at a price that probably covers the cost of a press, some overheads and a bit of profit....as most business work!!

i havent made this up goose- i specifically remember them saying there were 30 copies ONLY. and i dont know what business terms you go by- good business strategy is supplying your goods to the customer with value for money...not decieving them which is what is happening here...

he said that there were 30 copies, and thats y they were £30 a pop. now say if tidy did that with all their releases, or say every producer did that with all their releases- would you not raise an eyebrow?...

I wouldnt give a dog shit if it was karim doing it or Tidy doing it or your aunt vera doing it. The business principles are the same. If you have a marketable item you sell as many as possible.
Why should someone shoot themselves in the foot by NOT doing it just because it upsets a few numptys on banging tunes.
If you dont like it you dont have top pay it. Though your issue whould be with those that DO pay it as if they didnt, the prices would have to come down. So blame those that have bought it for pushing demand up and thus maintaining price!

Alex.. why does it bother you this much mate?? Whether there are 30 coipes or more is not the point.. even if there are 100 pressed the track is still rare.. Karim puts a lot of effort into his music and has got every right to charge what he wants for these tracks.. what about when people were selling underrave for 200 notes plus.. i didnt see anybody moaning about that.. it is upto the buyer at the end of the day.. if they think its worth the cash they will pay it.. it's like everything in life.. some will rate things higher than others..

I dont think there is really the need to come on the board and saying how much it pisses you off.. im sure if you could do it mate u would.. i know i would!!!

It winds me because I think who are you to make a statement on;

a) what Karim earns

and

b) whether or not that constitutes making a living or not

Personally I say fair play - he wants to make money from something he enjoys.. I certainly wish I did.  Who's to criticise him for that.

People buy his records because they want to.  Supply and demand.

And even if your attempts to calculate what that might mean over a year are correct, £16k isn't exactly a lot of money is it!  If I was earning that amount of cash I'd definitely be trying to make as much extra as I could.

say if you bought a limited edition original star wars poster for £30 after being told that there were only 30 of them. then goose, when they sold out of those, they decided, 'i know, even though they are limited, ill press another 30, and then when they run out, ill press another 30..'

do you not think that this a fucking immorale way of just making a few extra bucks? fair enough to sell them at £30 if they were going to stay limited, and he wasnt going to press anymore, because the tune would retain its value due to the fact that there werent so many of them knocking about...

but the fact that he sells them at 30, when he's pressed a shitload more of them (after he's told everyone that they are £30 because they are very limited), when he should have just pressed 500 and sold them off for a fiver each- thats actually a form of fraud...
