Creating 'donk' sound in FL..

U know the 'Donk' sound that you hear in bouncy house? how do you produce this in fruityloops? ive been experimenting a little but im fairly new and dont seem to be getting anywhere tosser

try with the ts404, crs on osc1 osc2 down entirely, both square waveform and play the bass on the third octave.

use a lowpass filter with some res to oink it up a bit biggrin

Hi, I managed to follow that and ive got some sort of a 'donk' but when you said put the bass on the third octave, where about is this.. is it still on the first part of ts404?

no i mean in the piano roll (C3) biggrin

on higher notes th doink bcomes less of a bass and more of a lead supercool

FM7 is what you need. Horrible sound tho lol

Ive just got hold of FM7, I dont suppose you know off hand which setting to put it on do you? thumbsup

Try putting some reverb on your bass noise the resampling it and cut off the trail at the end so its short and punchy again.

Ive tried the above ways of doing it and it kind of sounds like what im after, I think I just need some better bass samples now and I should have a pretty nice 'Donk' laughing

Forget using anything else, just use FM7.

The problem im having though is once ive got my donk sound in FM7 which is no76 - Bigdiz Bass, and ive adjusted it slightly, I dont know how to edit it to make it shorter so theres not the trail on the end. When I do what I usualy do and come out and then go to channel settings then edit on the wave at the bottom it wont allow me to do this when using FM7.... does that make any sense? looking

try hitting the screen with a mallet as that will make a 'donk'

you can get a 'donk' sound if you have a good tube mic and a couple of compressors. then make sure the room is about 80 degrees, or else it won't work. put the mic about waist height on a table and slap it with your dick. put your mid at about 40% and the low at around 65%. you may want to record it in an 'double' fashion where you multitrack the 'donk' for the 'warm sounding' that most people are looking for.

Isn't it just a damn sample? I saw this sample CD "Bouncy Hardhouse Samples"
I'd go fishing for something like that. also try www.mi7libraries.com . It's not free but it's also only $0.20c a sample.

Of course its a sample...we just like to take the piss!

why try and create the sound when its on a lot of tracks...even on its own!

even i wouldnt bother trying to create somehting like this and just use the sample..........not being Hypocritical, i use samples but not other peoples riffs.
