James, it wasn't a dig, just an observation. That time I came to Insekt I had a great night, just would be good to see more names appearing. Can't we see names like Pete Wardman, Maddox, Sam Hudson, Dave The Drummer, Tim C, Steve Thomas, DFQ etc... with perhaps warm up dj's like Lisa Germain, Sharp Boys eh?

I know it wasn't a dig mate.

Trust me, we've thought about the line ups long & hard.

The idea is to get the people pushing the scene forward playing. The producers & record label owners.... etc.

Pete Wardman - he's played.

Maddox - he was booked a few months ago, but for some reason we had to cancel him.

Drummer - Thought about getting Dave down...

Steve Thomas - doesn't really play hard sets anymore. He played for me @ Fuel, but it was all old hard music.

DFQ - hasn't really played anywhere in the UK for years now & is to my knowledge not making tracks. (that is the ethos behind the club)

Lisa German - Does she still play?

Sharp Boys - Do you know how much they are for a set? Plus they are exclusive to Orange & play funky house these days.

Tim C & Sam Hudson - Need to have more tracks out or be playing elsewhere regulary.

See I would say you don't just have to book DJ's who produce really since half the DJ's you have playing anyway are playing everyone else's tracks and not their own. I can't see how having people like Ian M, Pete Wardman etc... are going to be playing purely their own material and their certainly not pushing the scene forward. Just my thoughts anyway mate. As long as your packed all the time, your obviously doing the right thing. Its what your getting through the door that counts.

The DJs we book aren't booked to play all thier own tracks, but they are the ones making the tracks or supporting the scene in a big way. If it wasn't for them, then your average joe bedroom dj would be playing trance or something like that.. lol king

Neither Pete or Ian have played for us for ages now anyway.

We set our stall out from day 1 to try and make the music at the night the freshest it could be by involving those who are actually making it and helping to support the genre, one complaint you wont hear very often about Insekt is the standard of music on show.

We're not gonna go down the road where we book the "guest list DJs" because we think that they may be able to bring 20 or 30 extra bodies through the door as thats not what the nights about and will end before we turn it into that, we wont book new names for the sake of booking new names

We're all sick of going out and hearing DJs who "don't do it" for whatevcer reason so our night is gonna be structured as we want it to be(thats not a dig at any names thrown about, thats how we look to run the night in general)

can see you are not having a pop just saying how we like to do thingsthumbsup

PS:Maddox and DAVE the Drummer are defiantlly on the hit list and have been for some time, its only because we were dropped in the shit slightlly that Maddox hasnt played alreadythumbsup

I've only been the once unfortunately, but the majority of the line ups have had me proper pissed off not to be able to make it.  If I missed this one, I'd have to commit hari-kiri! laughing
