In reply to It's what you do with the samples that makes the music style. It's not too much to do with the samples themselves after all they're just a bunch of frequencies?
nobody is disputing that mate (in fact it's been said a few times in this thread by myself and others) - however a sample pack from an artist in a different genre could throw up some different sounding samples that hardhouse producers may not have thought about including in their sample packs.
After all, where's the harm in having a different view point for a change?
