in cubase sx 2- i'm wondering the best way to apply a filter sweep to a whole mix.. and to be able to automate it

is it possible to put a filter on the master channel, and automate it somewhere (i.e. draw in the values?- if so where abouts?)

or is there a better way to do this?

thanks

add your fx channel , then click on r (read),  then add that effect to the master channel , where your fx channel is, theres a blue line , select what you want to automate then  draw away............. hope that made sense to yu

I usually add a filter to 'inserts' in whichever channel i want it on (click on inserts with mixer open (f3), its above channel fader where eq's are), usually either stepfilter, or the one in native tc bundle, then automate from that channel in left hand side of page, there are some little folders you can open downwards from each channel, select what you want to automate from there. Then click the W and R buttons to draw in your automation. (or record in with your midi controller)

cool - think thats what i'm after thumbsup

yeah i've used filter fx on inserts, but wanted to try it over the whole mix.. i had a thought that maybe this actually could be done after the track has been bounced down to a single wav

not giving up on fruity - still love it for bashing out riffs/basslines and general ideas.. but always used something else to sequence my stuff (used to be cakewalk, then sonar.. but now i'm using cubase.. which is sweeet)
