Signum -WUG4M. AMH Remix

hi all, just a quick demo of a remix i been working on,

levels n EQ will b everywhere, produced it all on headphones (monitors F*cked), any ideas on making it more original? Also, whats the score with royalties n stuff???

first thing is the bassline sounds a bit odd to me, doesn't sound like theres enough punch to it.

also you need some more percusion in there, sounds very dry at the mo, i think a nice hi-hat would help it drive along a bit more.

also some more atmospherics, sweeps, drops etc with loads of verb and delay, just sounds a little too dry, i said that earlier lol.

clarkes remix aint all that IMO

and Tom Parr's is very typical of a tidy hoover tune... very appealing to a tidy crowd and i think a lot of his stuff is really good even tho he sounds like a twat on here

As Daz says... None of these even come close to the original, there have been better remixes too...  I remember there being a thread on Clarke's remix a while ago and i thought it was hideous, to be honest out of all of them the AMH one is the only one who has a decent stab at the riff but the rest of the tune is lacking in so many ways... I wouldnt touch WUG4ME with a barge pole... Namely because...

1) There has already been a million remixes of it

2 ) None of them are a patch on the original

3 ) Some things are best left as they were intended (another classic example is Energy 52 "Cafe del mar")

Just dont do it lads... It aint clever

lol didnt know a little fun with an old tune wud turn into WW3 lol. Touche opeum, i know exactly wot u mean bout sum tunes r best left alone. Was more of a fun thing, not looking to get nothin from it lol. Liking ur stuff loads at the mo, especially recent stuff. Take it easy all..

Its not like im saying "dont ever remix anything" you bunch of numptees... Im just saying that there are certain tunes that you will remix and they will always be compared to the original (which they will never better)... Im not saying dont remix them, im just saying that the feedback you will get will always based on how good it is compared to the original tune and as such it will never match up...

AMH - thanks, im glad you are liking my most recent stuff... With regards to your remix i really like the work you have done on the riff, the bass needs some real work though, why not try and have a rolling bass with plenty of variation to really make it different to the bass from the original, also it lacks alot of bass, far too midrangey... The percussion needs alot more going on and there needs to be more sweeps and fills... Overall though its not a bad crack at it...
