That's a little insulting to the Hardhouse/NRG scene (or too atleast Karim fans) if you ask me. It's as if he's saying he only ever made or mixed compilation CD's for the money. Fair play earn money from what you love doing but if you have loyal fans and people who look up to you then the least you can do is throw a free mix up every now and then. It's 1 hr out of your busy day!!

 

Sorry I'm a little drunk and wouldn't normally say this but to not mix compilations because you can afford not too is pretty gash.

"Afford" doesn't necessarily have a financial meaning.

Maybe he meant he can afford not to because he gets gigs and doesn't feel there's a need to do a mix to promote himself?

I'm a professional body piercer, so would not perform a piercing for free.  Same thing.  He has spent years pewrfecting his craft, he deserves to be compensated IMO. But, a free mix would rule K, c'mon, pretty please?

So if you had a loyal customer who'd had everything pierced, you wouldn't be tempted to give him / her a freebie as a token of your gratitude for their loyalty?

If you're that tight (which I'm sure you're not), you must have your buttocks pierced together.

In all fairness, that customer would not be able to make copies of the piercing and put them up for download and thus affect future sales of piercings to other people would he.

Yeah but they could take a photo of it then put that online for people to download who could then print it out then use a bit of stickey back plastic to place said piercing where ever they wanted.

But quite frankly that would be a bit silly, when infact they could roll the piece of paper up like REALLY tight so that its got a nice sharp end on it then try to ram that through one of their nipples

I think you maybe mean that by doing a mix, it will affect the sales of the commercial mixes because everyone will already have a recent Karim mix which they got for free. Regardless of how many people put copies up for download.

Not too fussed about a free Karim CD. I know where to find Karim CD's if I want them.

Dont think i even have any Karim mixes except for the Horizons CD.

does it really hurt that much to press record when he's fucking about at home and put it up for a download?

as if anyone would put a free mix up at the time of releasing a paid for CD!!! makes no sense for anyone to do that as it would almost certainly harm sales. Thats like glazby putting a mix up just before one from the hard box was released  

Plus if the guy doesn't want to do it then thats up to him really.....

It makes me laugh on here cause every other thread theres someone arguing or not happy with something who gives a shit what Karim said, his new cd will be out soon enough and like said above he is harldy going to give a free mix away as he is releasing a compilation cd

I didn't say he had to do a mix of new tunes. He could do a mix of old classics, that way it'll have no effect on sales of his new projects etc

Whether he does or not it doesn't bother me one bit, it would just be decent I guess. All the other top jocks knock mixes out every now and again for free with no problems as a kind gesture to the people that go out and pay good money to see them play out or even buying their compilations etc. I don't know some agree some disagree but there's no harm askin!

Even though Karim is gay, he sure is one hell of a tight arse..

I wasn't insulting him in any way shape or form, I just think that there is a difference between not being able to afford to do a mix and not doing one because you can afford not too. It's just basically highlighting the fact that you don't care much for the people who listens to your music and that you really only care about the money in there pocket.

Again I'm drunk so I don't care about writing this now, 2morrow is a different day and I probably won't speak about it. God I'm such a fag!!

I don't expect him to do a mix to be honest, and even if he don't it doesn't change my opinion of him at all. He's still a legend in this scene no matter what but its worth askin!!

having heard him play a number of times I would say he does.....although most aren't really there for his mixing skills more his tunes
