Looking at the gun seige off Kings Road yesterday, the guy was a barrister. It's a slight conflict of interest for a barrister to have a gun let alone start shooting at the police. I t happens more in the USA than here but there's nothing stopping anyone from going nutz!!

What makes people snap  inside?

( and dont say a broken arm please )

I get angry at a lot of stuff in society these days but would never go out and shoot people.

Everything is fucked up in the UK too but best to get on with your own stuff and keep out of the way if possible and make your own goals come true. all a waste of energy fighting the corrupt powers that be.

I'm not s sure the guy did snap because to snap is a knee jerk reaction. To have a gun in your house is pre-planned. He knew what he was doing.

The fact his missus was seen storming out of the building crying moments before probably had something to do with it.

That's called getting angry. He already had a gun in the house.

Everyone has different levels of tolerance, right and wrong etc. In some cases, people reach that point of no return a lot quicker, so all normal thoughts go out of the window.

I agree with the fact that if you keep a gun at home then you're looking for trouble.

never had any contraband in your house? (i know a gun, in the uk at least, is taking things to the extreme but i'm sure most people have had something or other in their possession that they shouldn't really have)

I dunno about pushing people over the edge like this but i in most cases of suicide it either the opposite sex or money

Which if you think about it covers a fair bit of ground

In America the guy would have wandered into a shopping centre or school and started off'ing people.  In the UK a few random shots were fired that were not particularly at people and then got in a shoot out with police.  Sounds like a total death wish.

Amercians with guns though eeek, is almost as bad as extremists with garden and hair products

I snap fairly easily and it's been like that since I had a breakdown five years ago. I'm generally a very chilled and easy going guy but I get stressed easily and if pushed can flip my lid and do all manor of ridiculous things to try to gain control.

I rarely snap really and tend to turn things inward a bit, which is probably worse because when I do eventually go off things tend to get broken. munted
